Re: [slim] [ANNOUNCE] SqueezeCommander 0.9 for Android

2010-01-26 Thread local . bin

Hi there

Tried your app some time ago and had a few issues, bugs and overlapping
graphics on screens etc.

Overall a good app, so I have purchased again, this time for good, as
you seem to be actively developing :)

Thanks for your hard work and here's to hoping for some nice updates in
the future.

Would be great to get the app appearing as a device within the
squeezebox device selection!

All the best.

Re: Napster UK Now 5

2009-10-16 Thread local . bin

Thanks for all your input.

I'm struggling with the Napster / Spotify decision, rather than the £5
decision really.

There is no iphone client for Napster, but there is great Slimserver
support, while the opposite is true for Spotify :-/

Of course if the service is good I'll never need support, but with
Spotify I can cancel the service by opting out in my account and their
service is great.

You have to go via customer services with Napster and I've heard
varying reports about that service.

If the service is indeed good, then £5 is a bargain :)

Its also a pity that my music seems to be on Spotify but only in the US
Napster site...

Have any of you tried m.napster.com site? does it also work well?

Thanks again.

Although I love Spotify Premium I really can't justify the 9.99 a month
for streaming.

£5 is far more palatable, but I wondered how you all found Napster as a
service in the UK?

Can the service be used natively on a Mac? or is it all browser based?

Thanks in advance

For £5.00 I'm not going to complain too much, I use it for background
music and as a sort of try before I buy on CD. Gives me the option of
listening to many Artists that I would not have even considered. It
great for the kids - having the latest chart music without any effort on
 my part.

I have previously cancelled my Napster subscription, and after a few
minutes wait on the telephone the subscription was cancelled with a
reference number issued, all without any fuss. I also recently called
them when I received a new debit card, but their system kept rejecting
the new info. They did really try very hard to make my new card work but
I have very little patience so just used another card.

I was unable to enter my password for Napster directly via a SB and
had to enter it via mysqueezebox.com as the SB interface would not let
 me use lowercase!

Thanks for your input.

That is exactly what I was looking to use it for.

Does it link to last.fm on the browser interface by any chance?

Its great that it works with the slimserver, but its client system
looks poor compare to spotify?

thanks again.

[slim] 7.3 to 7.4 on a different system upgrade?

Is there a how to somewhere to migrate 7.3 to 7.4 when you are not on

Thanks

Just copy the server.prefs file from etc/squeezecenter to
etc/squeezebox of the new installation. Make sure file paths in there
point to the new folders too.

Thanks for the quick response.

Is that one file really the only thing I need? ok.

I'm used to linux and understand /etc normally holds the configs, but
would have thought I'd need to copy all of /etc, rather than one file.

Anyway, I know you are informed, so shall give that a try, thanks! :)

OK my server.pref file is in the /prefs director on my Synology
Diskstation

I assume I only copy that to /etc/on slimnas...

The plugin prefs are in that directory too; would it hurt taking those
across too?

Thanks in advance.

btw did you rule out streaming to iPeng, by making it a device? or is

I have to say since upgrading to 1.3 I am much happier with my purchase
:) thanks!

I have iPeng, Squeemote and Squdgy and I like the layout of Squeemote
very much.

The sync and devices screen is great, as I always find myself getting
frustrated with iPeng's device managers screen scrolling.

keep up the great work!

Thanks
