[slim] Herb Alpert - Music Volume 1 in Hi Res 96/24
I have been downloading some albums by Herb Alpert from the HDTracks site. These albums are available in Hi Res either in 96/24 or 88/24. All the albums I have downloaded play perfectly with one exception. One of his most recent albums called Music Volume 1. When I play tracks from this album via my Transporter I get no audio at all. The track name appears on Transporter screen but no audio plays. Initially I thought the files I had downloaded were faulty in some way, but these files play on my computer without any problems. Also, I can play these tracks on my iPhone using an app called Flacbox. I have other Hi Res 96/24 files that play perfectly on my Transporter so I am very puzzled why only this one album will not play properly. If anyone has any ideas Id be very grateful. Re: [slim] Large Backups on a Cloud
I use Dropbox for backing up my music database which is about 1Tb / 60,000 tracks. As a bonus I have installed an app called FLACBox on my iPhone which allows my to play music stored directly on Dropbox. So I have access to my complete music library when I'm away from home using either 3G or WiFi. I already had a 2Tb Dropbox account but I had only a few documents stored on it. This way I can make use of the storage capacity. Re: [slim] A Final Goodbye and thanks to this amazing community
I am a very happy Transporter/iPeng user. My Transporter is now about 10 years old. Where did that time go? Seems like yesterday when I was taking it out the box and installing it on my HiFi rack. I have over 64,000 FLAC tracks stored on my server hard drive. I think that alone would prevent me from moving to Sonos. I believe there is a 50,000 or 60,000 track limit on Sonos systems. I've never really got into using the streaming services like Spotify. [slim] Style Jukebox - Upload FLAC music files to their Cloud
I discovered Style Jukebox a few days ago. It is a system where you can upload your music files to their cloud server, and then use it as a Cloud backup for your music and/or play your music on your mobile device using either WiFi or 3G/4G networks. The free version allows you to upload MP3 music files totalling 2GB to their servers. You can then play back the music on a Windows Desktop App or via their iOS or Android mobile apps. Or their paid version allows you to upload FLAC or ALAC music files. For $7.99 per month you get 1Tb of storage. Seems interesting. This service is a bit like Amazon Music Cloud Player but whereas Amazon Music only allows you to store/play back MP3 files, Style Jukebox allows you to store and playback FLAC files. I've been trying it out myself and it seems to work quite well. Especially if you have an unlimited mobile data plan. http://www.get-jukebox.com/ Transporter (Black) > Cyrus 8XPd QX > B CDM1NT Speakers CD/HDD Recorder: Alesis Masterlink ML-9600 http://www.last.fm/user/norderney1962 norderney's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=378 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104267 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

How do you backup your music database on the My Cloud drive? I currently have 3 x USB2 WD My Book drives which I use for backing up. I have the SyncBackSE app on my PC which only backs up changes I have made to the music database, ie new albums added. It does not back up items that are unchanged. 3. Was it quite easy to setup? 4. Is ripping CDs and changing tagging still a simple process? I use EAC for ripping CDs and TagRename for making amendments to my FLAC files. 5. Good news that it will play FLAC files on your phone, but a shame it can't see them as albums. Re: [slim] Western Digital My Cloud
I decided to get a WD My Cloud NAS drive today. I've got it connected to my network. I'm planning to continue running LMS on my PC and just have the music database on the My Cloud drive. How do I configure LMS to see the My Cloyd NAS? When I go into My Computer, the NAS appears as drive Y. But when I go into LMS Server Settings and try and browse the folders LMS does not see drive Y. [slim] Western Digital My Cloud
I've just been looking at Western Digital web site and see that they have a product called My Cloud which is esentially a 4Tb HDD which you connect via your router. I was wondering if anybody has been using this for storing their Music for playing on their SqueezeBox? As it appears to connect to your network via an ethernet cable to your router, can it be easily configured to connectto my Transporter? Looks quite an interesting product. They also have Smart Phone apps so that you can access your music, photos and files when you are away from home. But I doubt if their Apps will handle FLAC files. This all sounds very interesting. I currently use a Transporter running LMS on my PC. One of the plug ins I find very useful is TrackStat. I assume this will be included in your new software project? [slim] Radio Functions missing from LMS
Very odd. Yesterday I had a number of different options under the radio heading in LMS, today all that is left are some plug ins such as JazzFM, BBC IPlayer and NPR and that's it. The Tune In URL is there, but the option to search by radio station name is missing. Has anything happened to cause this? The only thing that has changed on my setup, is that I have replaced my router because I am using a different ISP. Could this affect how LMS works? Re: [slim] Jazz FM Audio On Demand
I've just received the following e-mail from Ken Rayner an engineer at Jazz FM: RTSP shouldn't really be the issue. It's simply another way of wrapping the file info and any internet-connected device should be able to read it. The only http URLs I have are for iOS and Microsoft Silverlight. Everything else is rtmp (for Flash) and rtsp (for everything else). The only other thought is that we might include the instance in the URL: rtsp://listen.onmyradio.net:1935/JAZZFM/_definst_/MP3:jazzfm_latelounge.mp3 Meantime, let me know if you get any info back from the forum. [slim] Problem with Listen Again on BBC iPlayer via my Transporter

[slim] How to stream Radio Six International
I am trying to access a radio station called Radio Six International - http://www.radiosix.com/ They have/had an ogg stream which was of reasonbly high quality but this stream does not appear to be working. I e-mailed the station and Tony Currie replied with a URL which is http://icecast:8000/radiosix.aac. I was wondering if anybody else can get this URL to work? It looks as if it is an AAC stram. I have configured SC7.3 to play AAC+ streams. toby10;380433 Wrote: As Andy has pointed out in the pic, you don't click on Search, you hover over it and the search box appears where you type your query then hit ENTER. Do you get a search box? In RadioTime Presets you should have a Local or City folder for your area. You can also add some presets via the RadioTime web site. If these are not showing up in your Presets in SC7 then the account may not be set up properly. I am using the Handheld skin, not the Default skin, because I use a Dell PDA to control my Transporter. I tried changing back to the Default skin and then I have the search box. But when I switched back to the Handheld skin there is no search box. Is it possible to display the search box on the handheld skin as well? -- norderney Transporter (Black) - Arcam A85 Amp - BW CDM1NT Speakers - Yamaha CDRHD1500 Recorder norderney's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=378 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57713 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Backing up FLAC and SyncBackSE settings
I am thinking about reinstalling my operating system on my PC, which means reinstalling all my software applications. Is there anyway to backup/save the current settings for FLAC? This would save me having to customise my FLAC settings after reinstalling the FLAC application. Also, does anybody use SyncBackSE - backup utility? Re: [slim] How To Use Last Fm?
There seems to be much more functionality available on the last.fm web site than via Squeeze Centre 7.2. For example I can view all the tracks I have played since 1 September on the web site, but only the 10 most recently played tracks via squeeze Centre. If I click on an artist on the web site in my recently listened tracks, it gives me: Artist Bio Similar Artists (and names them) top albums by the selected artist (and names them) top tracks by the selected artist (and names them) BUT if I click on an artist on Squeeze Centre in my very short list of recently listened tracks, it lists 4 options: Similar Artists Radio Top Fans Radio Artist Bio Similar Artists SqueezeCentre does not show top albums or top tracks by the selected artist.
