IMO, if the attention is get approval of audio reviewers, Wiim better have this singing like $1000 streamer and not sound like an Alexa puck. Or if the attention is to appease Amir to review for the ASR peeps since he couldnt recommend in his last review, that is a tough audience. Making a product for 2 type of audiences hasnt been done yet. The hi-fi group will buy a product based on the numbers. The audiophile group will buy by based on how it sounds. Making a product for the subjective and objective reviewer hasnt gone well based on everything Ive read in the forums. I agree. Adding the Squeezelite client should be easily added. They wouldnt even have to add to their app to use. Just install the client and ppl who use LMS will be able to use. Ppl who dont have LMS, they dont even notice its there. The day before his vid came out, there was a Touch for $90 that I was pondering to pickup for a family member. I slept on it like I do with my impulse buys. Darko vid came out the next day and I went looking for the $90 Touch. Ad was reposted with an updated price for $200 and sold shortly after. Re: [slim] Suggestions for Squeezebox player replacement for a non-techie longtime SB user
This has been on my mind on what I want to do for whole home music without a bunch of devices. I have a Touch on my main system. My plan is to get an Android tablet with SB Player and use a bunch of bluetooth speakers around the house connected to it. The only location I really care about audiophile quality is my main system. My other option is a Windows Surface with Squeezelite-X and bluetooth speakers. Ive connected my old Samsung Note to my DAC with USB using SB player. Audio quality is comparable to the Touch. Only issue with the Note is it cant be connected to a power source 24/7 without the battery going back. Which leads to an Android tablet or the Innovato. I tried rpi4 picoreplayer to dac using usb and couldnt get audio. Didnt spend enough time debugging. Was really looking for plug n play solution. Re: [slim] Adding a Wiim Mini to your LMS system
I wonder if LMS (squeezelite) is on the road map for the Pro. I didnt see a price either. Re: [slim] Does synchronized playback suck or is it just me?
Not sure about Spotty but Qobuz has a cache setting that I set to prevent any buffering. Maybe it will help Spotty with transcoding and syncing to all the players Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk threshold350's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42463 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116953 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
