Re: [slim] LMS Extractor Is Now Available

2015-02-08 Thread venus light

This looks like an awesome tool. What would be a good resource to
discover how to write different SQL queries on this database?

I'm not super versed on SQL, but am pretty computer-savvy, so I think I
could figure it out if someone pointed me in the right direction.

The pre-sets are great, but I'd like to do a little customization and
don't want to bother folks in this thread to create new code just for
me.

TIA

Does anyone have a recent version of this that they can share? It looks
like acc.vanholt.nl is offline.

The most recent version that I have is v1. I realize this only works on
older versions of SBS, but I was hoping to use it again.

Anyone?

[slim] Browse list of playlists on website

2010-09-29 Thread venus light

If a website has a list of playlists with links to m3u files, is there a
way to browse that on a Squeezebox? Short of saving each playlist to
the local playlist directory?

How hard would it be to build a plugin that would allow me to do this?
I have the ear of the webmaster and he seems willing to help as far as
how he presents the playlists on the webpage.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Re: [slim] Announce: Album Catalog Creator v3

2010-02-11 Thread venus light

Frank,

As always, thanks for all your hard work with ACC.

Quick question re: printing. I've left the setting at default. I'm
using large artwork and can get 4 album rows per page no problem.
Unfortunately, on occasion, I get some extra text lines that carry onto
the next page or sometimes, just the artwork will carry on to the next
page if there isn't room for a fourth album row.

I've tried reducing the Maximum Track rows per page and that doesn't
seem to help with the overflow. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

That you'd have to try, no idea if it would work. But you could
certainly have an RSS which lists all the mp3s directly and they should

Another option would be to run a upnp server on the box in question and
then use the built in upnp browser in SC/SS to play from it. That
depends of course on whether you can install the server but there are
some pretty light weight ones, looks like even some in perl and other
scripting languages which should run on pretty much anything.

Well, there are 100s of folders on this site with 15+ songs in each.
So the ideal solution would be one where I could browse the folders (or
playlists) and be able to pick which one to listen to. It seems like
setting up a podcast might be the most desirable solution.

repeated 3 or 4 times!. The rest look perfect.

I don't think it's my tags as I don't fool around with them very much -
I just rip with EAC to flac and that's it. I'm on Windows XP. I'm also
 running Music IP concurrently.

Any ideas what might be happening here? Thanks.

Frank or one of the other guys might have a better answer, but I would
guess it is Music IP.

I was running it and if I did anything to my tags or moved files and
rescanned with SlimServer, it always showed multiple instances of songs
and/or albums. It's something about Music IP that it wants to cache
older versions even if they don't exist. I would turn off Music IP, do
a clear and rescan with SS and then run ACC and see what happens.

Re: [slim] Announce: Album Catalog Creator for SlimServer

2008-02-02 Thread venus light

Frank,

Thanks so much for all your hard work with this - it's exactly what
I've been looking for.

I've got a couple of questions...

1) How is it supposed to handle Various Artists? I've tagged all my VA
albums as:
Artist - Various Artists
Title - Artist / Song title
I've found it easiest for organization. Yet, ACC gives each track in
each of the albums it's own album entry. Therefore, if I've got a VA
album with 20 tracks, then I get 20 different albums with 1 track each
in ACC.

2) Along the same lines as #1, I've got 2 albums in a collection of 551
that is split up in my ACC report as 10 different albums - each with 1
or 2 tracks in it. I can't seem to find anything in the tags that is
causing this - SS treats it as a single album.

3) Artists with The at the beginning get alphabetized as such. Is
there a way to make ACC ignore the leading The?

4) And finally, there are a couple of instances where the printout is
cutting off an album listing in the middle of a list of songs. Is
there anyway to fix this?

I apologize if any of these issues have already been covered in this
thread - I didn't see any when I searched for them.

Thanks again for all your hard work!

Not possible, definite. You need more power.

Video production are at the top of the list of serious resource hogs.
You should be running a Dual Core 2 or may be a Quad. With lots more
 RAM.

Compared to that, a SlimServer takes nothing. It will be happy with
anything over a gigahertz with enough RAM for your OS.

Now, your P4 system will be a screaming fast SlimServer once you get
 the
 proper dual-CPU Quad system.

Thanks for the info. I figured that was the culprit.

I wish I made enough money on the video production to justify buying a
new machine.

[slim] Need help streaming from a site

2007-03-28 Thread venus light

Thanks for all the info yall provide on a regular basis. I'm trying to
figure out how to stream from the site: www.panicstream.com

They provide lots of streams from their site - they use flash players
embedded in pages.

http://panicstream.com/streams/wsp/
^-that is a directory of a bunch of streams of different concerts -
each directory has it's own songlist.xml file.

http://panicstream.com/streams/wsp/2007_03_27/player.html
^- that is a page that contains the player for a specific stream.

I would love to be able to browse through all of the folders on my SB,
but would settle for being able to enter a different url for each
concert and being able to stream it that way.

If anyone can provide any help, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
