If you're using windows and music quality is an issue, you probably want
squeezeslave2. Get the ASIO version and either install ASIO4ALL or buy
an ASIO output device (I'm using a $30 Behringer box with good
results). This keeps Windows' direct sound mixer out of your signal
path.

these devices so it can be used to control your squeezeboxes, and you
can enable the audio playback so it can become a player as well.
Softsqueeze - this emulates the older style players (SB3/Classic,
Transporter, Boom, ...). This used to be available through the web
interface to Squeezeboxserver, you'd have to search the forums to find
out how to get it now, I don't recall.
Squeezeslave - this is a gui-less player, typically you would run it
from a command tool. It's nice because it's small and doesn't require
 any display resources.
Not sure about printing playlists - may actually be third-party apps or
other music software which could handle this better. There's something
called Album Catalogue Creator which allows you to create catalog of
your entire library. I haven't used it, but here's link to the related
 thread:

In newer version of SBS, SqueezePlay is available as a plug-in called
Community Squeezeplay. You have have to first enable view all 3rd
party plug-ins.

It is handy because if you have your server set-up for remote access,
you can install this player from the WebUI...

you mean softsqueeze. squeezeplay one must still download from the
nightlies section. (unless this has changed for 7.6. In 7.5, it is
community softsqueeze that you can download.)

'SqueezePlay'
(http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/index.php?ver=7.5) (you might
have to upgrade Squeezebox Server first), or use
http://yourserver:9000/stream.mp3
