Re: [slim] Absolute Radio UK Plug In
I just did a search for Absolute 80s in my LMS web front end and it gave me this feed automatically: http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s117787formats=aac,ogg,mp3,wmpro,wma,wmvoicepartnerId=16serial=447b0f7a7f5327f8ed03891676377c33 Currently listening via Squeezeplay @ 192K CBR I think it is the old Radiotime app from MySqueezebox.com which has changed to Tunein Radio. Working fine anyway for 80s, 90s 00s, nothing for 70s and 60s though as far as I can see. -- Blisteringblue 'What am I listening to?' I don't use Absolute Radio but my guess on why have an app for it: - organizes all streams into one menu - easier stream navigation - way to configure/add ones paid premium login ID - paid accounts may get higher bitrate streams? - paid accounts may get additional menu options (like saved streams)? -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91421 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

You don't have to pay to get higher bit rate streams, you just have to register on their web site. I would say the 2 reasons for having a specific App means access to all 7 radio stations from 1 location and easy access to all Podcasts too. -- norderney Transporter (Black) Cyrus 8XPd QX BW CDM1NT Speakers CD/HDD Recorder: Alesis Masterlink ML-9600 http://www.last.fm/user/norderney1962 norderney's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=378 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91421 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Absolute Radio UK Plug In
It seems that a sign is required to pick up the 60's and 70s streams. They're not listed on http://www.absoluteradio.co.uk/listen/on-other-devices.html. Podcasts could be put into a plugin along with a selection of live streams. The podcasts could do with some organizing. I've been thinking about 'organizing podcasts' anyway, to try and get some order into the apparently randomly organized BBC podcast listings. Possibly hook into whatever the provide to iTunes. A moderately straightforward mash up of the existing classicfm plugin might then provide a framework to accomodate the result into a 'single app' format. Although somewhat clunky as presently put together, it would not require significant reworking. Ideally the existing app would provide access to all of this. I will e-mail Absolute Radio to see if there is any pre-existing podcast opml file that might be used, and to see how access might be obtained to the 60's and 70's streams. But perhaps someone already knows, or is already pursuing ? -- mrw mrw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38299 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91421 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Absolute Radio UK Plug In
I think you will get all the live streams here: http://www.absoluteradio.co.uk/listen/on-other-devices.html (which you can then add into your favorites on the server) The best quality streams are the flac ones - if you can afford the bandwidth to stream at ~1M on your broadband link. Unfortunately the server does not support this at present. Its working for me with foobar though - will look at what the server needs to support this. -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91421 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

maybe I'm being a bit dim here, but what is the app for, given that you can play the streams 'live' anyway? [slim] Absolute Radio UK Plug In
Any chance of some clever person producing a Radio Plug In for Absolute Radio - similar to the one for Jazz FM? Absolute Radio began life as a single station called Virgin Radio. It has now developed into a multi themed multi channel network. Currently it has the main station Absolute Radio, then spin off stations Absolute 80s, Absolute 90s and Absolute Classic Rock. Within the next 2 weeks it will be launching 2 more radio stations called Absolute 70s and Absolute 60s. They also have a number of Podcasts from their website which would be nice to have access to as well.
