Re: [slim] Android phone + Squeeze Commander + Rhapsody = THE BEST 3-SOME EVER!
I have been unable to drill down to individual episodes on either mediafly or the podcast player app. These two apps do work on iPeng. They don't work on squeeze commander. -- mortslim mortslim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11039 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78057 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Android phone + Squeeze Commander + Rhapsody = THE BEST 3-SOME EVER!
The podcast player seems ok but the mediafly app doesn't work. For mediafly, the channels are listed, but when an attempt is made to drill down to individual episodes, the screen message says please wait while a circle just spins. On the other hand, mediafly works fine on iPeng. -- mortslim mortslim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11039 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78057 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

According to the bug tracker, it's a bug in the wpa_supplicant binary on *HTC* devices. If you have root access, you can even replace the wpa_supplicant binary with the vanilla one and UDP broadcasts work again. AFAIK, it *does work* on e.g. a Nexus One with 2.1, so it really looks like a HTC problem. -- flattermann Christian Home of 'SqueezeCommander' (http://www.squeezecommander.com) - The SqueezeBox Remote Control App for Android flattermann's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33169 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78057 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

The Nexus One is manufactured by HTC, but it has no HTC enhancements (e.g. no SenseUI...). It's probably just the vanilla Android firmware (maybe with additional hardware drivers). You can setup your Receiver with SqueezeConfig ( http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76584 ). Unfortunately, SqueezeConfig does not work on Android 2.1 because of a bug in the Android 2.1 firmware ( http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=8407 ). :-( It works on Android 1.5, 1.6 and 2.2. If you are using Android 2.1, you can setup your Receiver with the Net::UDAP tool (for Desktop PCs). -- flattermann Christian Home of 'SqueezeCommander' (http://www.squeezecommander.com) - The SqueezeBox Remote Control App for Android flattermann's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33169 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78057 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Android phone + Squeeze Commander + Rhapsody = THE BEST 3-SOME EVER!
This praise is like a combined one to Rhapsody, SqueezeBox Duet (Logitech) and Android OS. There's this Android app called Squeeze Commander (about $3.50 USD) and, unlike other apps that allow you to control your Squeeze music account from your phone, this one DOESN'T require you to set up a Squeeze Server on your PC. It connects directly to your Squeeze Network account and lets you control your SqueezeBox from the phone without a glitch, including music subscription services like Rhapsody, among others. It basically converts your Android phone into a second remote controller (the one that comes with the Duet), saving you from spending $300 should you were considering of getting a second remote like I was. You invest less than four bucks on the app and you get $300 worth of functionality, that's all I have to say.
