[slim] Can somebody answer this`:-)
Hi all I'm considering buying a squeezebox Duet. Seems like a great peace of equipment. The thing is, I don't want to stream my music from my computer, since I don't want it running 24-7. I then found out you can use mp3tunes/mp3 Locker. But then I would have to upgrade to a premium account to fit all my music on there. So my qustion is... Can I put all my music on my own domain or Ftp or whatever it is called. I mean, I have my own website with plenty of space. Is there a way to upload my files there, and have Squeezebox stram it from that location? I hope some of you know the answer to this question. Hope to hear from you. /Ollie -- Ollie Meyers Ollie Meyers's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32351 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66870 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

The answer is no, music files need to be streamed to the players by a SqeeezeCenter running on a host computer. I don't want to stream my music from my computer, since I don't want it running 24-7 Wake-On-LAN (WOL) is a good solution which has been discussed on these forums. -- amcluesent amcluesent's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66870 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

You would have to have Squeezecenter running on the server and firewall rules to only allow you to connect. You would also have to have a fixed IP at home.
