Thanks Rick. Yes, I have installed those mods. That would explain it,
then. I thought it was just a cultural thing.

Well, I'd heard that Alvin, Theodore and Simon had retired to Argentina
and were doing Spanish immersion classes in preparation for their next
gig, but figured that was just one of those rumors...

In all seriousness, if you want to listen to lower bitrate stations,
you have to re-enable ALL the outputs from the Touch using the Toolbox
command. I believe that will solve the problem.

[slim] Chipmunks in South America!

2011-04-23 Thread Percival Sweetwater

Whilst rumaging around looking for some interesting internet radio
stations to listen to from this sad sweet earth, I was astonished, if
not, shocked, by quite a few stations in Latin America. They are
broadcasting at multiple speed, like a 33rpm record played at 78! At
first I thought it was something to do with my Touch, or Squeezebox
server (or whatever it's called today); but this is radio! Obviously
not live. Does anyone know what's going on here? In all my years of
short wave listening I've never heard anything so weird.
Such stations are:

Complice FM 99,7 in Ecuador,
Rádio ZP30 610 in Bolivia,
Aclo Poatosi 680 in Paraguay

Did you, perhaps, implement Soundcheck's mods in your Touch? If so,
this is a known issue with lower bitrate radio stations.
