Re: [slim] Library rescanned automatically?
I too have noticed occasional auto rescans, even though I have turned scheduled auto rescans off (which I confirmed, and the time if on would be 10 am), in my settings. I now run SBS 7.5.3 but had the same experience in 7.5.1. Yesterday I found the SBS rescanning my playlists two different times unprompted (a few hours apart) in the afternoon. Both times playlists disappeared as i was searching for them on the web interface, and then I noticed a rescan (for changes) was in progress. I have been making some changes to some album tags on some new music in my iTunes library (Mac OS 10.5.8), but see no reason for a rescan. I don't use MusicIP. Any ideas on what might be causing these unprompted rescans? Erland, could SQL or Dynamic Playlists plug-ins (which I have active but have not been using) somehow trigger this? Might be worth a look So there is and it seems that mine has been enabled (I am still on 7.5.0 to answer Erland's question). I don't remember enabling it and it is odd that it is set for 9am. I'm sure I would have chosen a time in the middle of the night if I had set this. Anyway, mystery more or less solved. [slim] Library rescanned automatically?
I noticed my library got rescanned this morning but I had not requested a rescan. What could have triggered this? I don't remember setting up any regular automated scan (I wouldn't know how to without researching it a bit) and even if I had, I would want it to happen during the night and not at about 9 am. -- Zoltan Zoltan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9998 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Library rescanned automatically?
If you're using MusicIP, changes there can trigger a SBS rescan, unless you disable it. -- bobkoure bobkoure's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14646 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Library rescanned automatically?
Thanks for the suggestion but I don't use MusicIP. Anyway I guess it doesn't matter too much as long as it doesn't start doing it too frequently. I was just a bit surprised that it happened and wondered if there was some automated/scheduled scan facility that I was not aware of. -- Zoltan Zoltan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9998 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Which Squeezebox Server version ? I think the 7.6 beta performs automatic rescans when a file in the music folder has been changed. -- erland Erland Isaksson ('My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info)) (Developer of 'many plugins/applets' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/User:Erland).
