Question on flac file format stuttering. For some reason I have Pink Floyd:animals, ripped twice, AAC lossless and flac. Its the flac version that is stuttering. Now I realize that I can just delete the flac version and move on. But just curious is there anything to debug, the flac files work when played through a squeezebox radio. Hello, So built a boost with on/off switch; works great Problem: I left the battery connector off as it seems there is no room for it. With the battery connector, connected; it peaks out as far as the headphone Jack. Just wondering if there is an option to set limit to max volume when using squeezeAmp Bluetooth sink or at least set default volume after connecting to Bluetooth devices. My partner prefers to use native tidal application instead of LMS so Bluetooth is great option for her. However win 11 laptop doesn't seems to remember previous volume value and blasts at 100 volume after connecting to squeezeAmp. I doubt there is anything in Windows (unless I missed it) but perhaps it can be somehow set on squeezeAmp page with parameters etc? Yes, that is the scenario. Was going to have the speaker hooked up first, so yes, no space where IR is, just wanted to confirm that there is space next to the IR. Maybe if you bend switch pins and IR slightly you may just make it but its tricky as same time you need to close/assembly case. I think you are better off to place it opposite side above WiFi but you will have to secure at least one speaker wire before case assembly. In this case you block 1st wire terminal header screw. Its certainly workable if you defo need switch. I gave up as placed squeezeamp next to wall socket with switch. The polarity marking should now be correct, it was a mistake that one user mentioned for previous batch. The voltage is expected as I now measure the value at the battery pins. When there is no battery, its 8.4V for basic and 12.6 for boost. There is good and bad doing that, but previously the measuring point would only give me Vcc. For the casing youre right and I forgot about that, sorry. I had the option to put the IR receiver on the bottom side and I did not like it, so I opted for this solution but the casing should have been modified. You can reverse it but if you have a display, the missing honeycomb will be misplaced, and the opening for speakers header are a bit off. That still works though. The difficulty is that the case is made by the generosity of people around here and I dont want to abuse it. Still, Ill discuss @chill and @merlineng if we can make a batch of tops where the on/off opening is simply mirrored to be above the antenna. Hi there! I built up my 3 new SqueezeAmps and so far so good while using them to play when connected to unpowered speakers. I haven't checked out the other outputs yet; that's on the to do list. The IR is working great, which is super fun! One question - all 3 of these new SqueezeAmps report out ~8V on the LMS Settings->Information page when plugged into a 12V power supply. My SqueezeAmps from the previous run (which were boosts, I think?) all report ~12V on the same interface / same supply. I'm guessing that's expected and maybe a difference between basic and boost, but thought I'd check in just in case. Other than that the only difficulty I had was the initial connection to the SqueezeAmp. For whatever reason my windows laptop, when connected to the SqueezeAmp's squeezelite wifi just would not resolve the 192.168.4.1...or one time it did but then it just sat with a spinning wheel as it was trying to load up the page with the wifis available locally. I don't recall this happening last time, but it's also a new laptop. I forgot to try the "laptop won't connect to airport wifi" trick of using incognito mode so no idea if that would work, but instead was able to connect to it on my phone by joining that wifi (with the default password) and then selecting the notification that I needed to log in. Thanks Philippe, It makes sense and on off works, but Im not sure if I got incorrect top plate or it hasn't been changed after adding IR sensor.. Unless I'm being thick here.. When I position on/off switch above WiFi I don't have full access to speaker terminals . which makes me think it should be other side but there is IR sensor on a way :/ Its no big deal anyway .. Anyway all flashed OK.. Connected to WiFi and just tested .. I'm amazed that such tiny board is running massive vintage wharfdale dovedale 3 speakers.. Just a heads-up that I've almost shipped all my SqueezeAMPs. I have ~5 Basic left, no Boost (to my surprise). If you are interested, let me know because I'll be away until end of January starting next week. I know I've said that a couple of times, but it is more and more likely the last batch. Some parts are close to end-of life or are being incredibly difficult to find and I'm also close to run out of things like cases, cables, switches... If you have an extra, I would be interested in one. I'd like to have a modern unit to eventually replace a Touch, should one of my 2 devices succumb to old age. I'd like to get a head start coming up to speed on the requirements for such a unit. I'm not concerned about the cost. I'd need simultaneous optical and RCA out, Ethernet, but don't care about WiFi. I almost never look at the display since it lives in my server cabinet with the whole house audio amps and other equipment. Any reasonable case would be fine. I run LMS on my Mac. I'm not a hardware guy, and although competent enough to do assembly, I'd prefer to avoid breaking out in cold sweats trying to do anything more than snapping parts together and basic wiring. I've read through this thread, and the others, but still feel uncertain enough that I need to ask - would this unit meet these needs, and what would you recommend? The AMPs are still with DHL in custom's clearance, although they should have been delivered Thursday... but they are less than 10kms away :) With the responses I have, there are 45~48 over the 60 being already sold, so 10~15 remaining. I'm not worried at all for these, but just to remind that I don't make those builds often (as always, it's not a business: I buy the components, pay for assembly and taxes, buy boxes and bags and that's what you pay for + shipment). Power supply, yes you'll need one - again the readme outlines the options for basic or boost with or without batteries etc, I run a basic with display no batteries using a 12v 1.5A psu from an old router and it seems fine, but I also have 2A and 3A variants available if I need them. Functionality wise, I think they are the same, Airplay1 and support synchronisation I think both show up, I'm sure I've seen that previously... although just fired up one of my SqueezeAMPs and the SqueezeAMP one isn't showing, I don't use that feature so may have disabled it or it's not working in the somewhat older version I'm running on that SqueezeAMP. There is a setting in the LMS Shairtunes plugin "Allow all Squeezelite-based players" - needs to be ticked for SqueezeAMPs to be offered as an Airplay device. Is the base ESP32 the same? Just curious, the one I have is weak in the wifi department ( within 5m of the access point ).
