Re: [slim] Problems listening to Shoutcast Stations With Latest Firmware
Tell your listener to try the RadioTime feed, works fine. He'll need a RadioTime account (free) registered on SqueezeNetwork. Then to find your stream: From SC7 Internet Radio Search Americana Or he could add your station as a Preset from RadioTime.com SC7 RadioTime Presets *folder* Your stream shows up as 128k MP3. -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63451 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Problems listening to Shoutcast Stations With Latest Firmware
Hi, I am an internet radio broadcaster. One of my listeners sent me a message regarding difficulties with the latest Squeezebox firmware, and I'm trying to answer his question. I, myself, don't know anything about Squeezebox, but I figured radio listeners on this forum may be able to help. Following is the problem as it was posed to me: I can no longer listen to you on my SqueezeBox since their latest firmware update. This also is the case for other stations that use Shoutcast. Is there anything that I can do to resolve this? FYI, RadioFreeAmericana (the station this listener was trying to listen to) can be tuned in at our website's LoudCity page, the Shoutcast listings, the Audiorealm listings, or the direct connect URL if it is saved in your music player. After trying to play these streams from my Favorites, I can confirm that they do not play. I use SqueezeCenter 7.3.3 beta. I do not have any problems with other Shoutcast stations. Re: [slim] Problems listening to Shoutcast Stations With Latest Firmware
Yes, looks like it's due to the feeds being realaudio - the Squeezebox does not do realaudio (due to historical licensing issues), although i think it might if you install the AlienBBC plugging (for mplayer). I think you can install mplayer (to transcode) without alien BBC, but it's not something i have done. If they used to work, have you switched formats? -- autopilot Cheers, auto. -don't call me Shirley.- autopilot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1763 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63451 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Wouldn't it be better if the person having the problem posted here instead? Then their setup versions etc. could be checked.
