Re: [slim] Qnap TS-101 Update

2007-12-28 Thread fatserver

I've had a Qnap running SS for a year or so now - no probs.

I recently noticed that SS was not updating new music and decided to do
a clear and rescan and in the process lost everything as SS couldn't
find the music again.

To cut a long story short - I have read page after page of updating etc
and I now have a TS-101 that although has all my music on it, cannot be
accessed at 192.168.1.9:9000 or 9001, but still ok at 6000.

I think I may have inadvertedly installed/buggered about with things
that I had no business with.

My question is, How can I restore the thing back to factory settings
and start all over again?

Many many thanks for any help - I am extremely frustrated and lack the
IT ability to really understand what the problme is.

Re: [slim] Qnap TS-101 Update

2007-11-18 Thread CholseyRoyal

Hi folks,

I have been using a TS-101 for several years for storing muic, photos
etc and as my main network backup storage device.

I have now acquired a Squeezebox which runs perfectly off Slimserver
ver 6.5.4 on my laptop. However I should like to run it off the QNAP's
Slimserver which is version 6.2.2. Before I do I should like to update
to ver 6.3.1 not ver 6.5.4 as I hear it puts too much load on the
TS-101 so I shan't go for that option.

I have downloaded the all in one update from
http://www.progressiveav.com/ts101_update/ and installed it in the
updates folder, yes it has the .tar.gz extension. On rebooting the Qnap
I get the following message in an error file:-

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Read 5310 bytes from
/ext/updates/01-all-in-one-2006-05-30-ppc-module-update.tar.gz
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
/ext/bin/000-auto-update.sh: line 29: ./install-module.sh: No such file
or directory

I Have tried downloading using different computers running both Vista
and XP on the network and also turned off the network recycle bin.

Any ideas anyone please?

[slim] Qnap TS-101 update problem

2006-07-05 Thread TonyCharman

I have been trying to update My Slimserver using the files on the
following page: http://www.progressiveav.com/ts101_update/ I first ran
the All-In-One update (by putting it in the update folder and
re-booting. Then the same with the AlienBBC 1.04. Slimserver is now
not responding.

I have looked at the errors.log and it has the following: useradd: user
slimserver exists
mkdir: cannot create directory `/opt/slimserver': File exists
mkdir: cannot create directory `/opt/slimserver': File exists

Can anyone shed some light on this,

Many thanks.

[slim] Qnap TS-101 Update

2006-01-25 Thread ultra238a

Ok firstly my apologies for not posting any updates on here recently. We
are still recovering from the Christmas period and there just doesn't
seem enough hours in the day.

The current situation with the Qnap TS-101 is that the Qnap firmware is
now finished and the product is ready to ship. The only problem we now
have is that it is now the Chinese New Year so nothing is happening in
China for the next two weeks.

This product was promised to be with us mid-October 2005 as a lot of
you are aware. Qnap want to make sure that this product is the best it
can be for the wider audience and this has caused the delay in us
launching our version running Slim Server - regardless of if you want
their features or not.

We are nearly there. It is looking like our shipment will now go out on
the 15th February and we will ship a couple of days after they land with
us.

Thank you for your patience.
