My shuffle method was already set to this ("Use more balanced, but
slower shuffle"), but it's not terribly balanced. Here's an example of a
random song mix that I just generated:

There is a recently added option for "Shuffle Method." You probably want the "more balanced, slower" version. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. I recently upgraded my LMS server from 7.9 to 8.2.0. Since the upgrade I've noticed that the Random Songs feature is alot less random - 80% of the tracks are from the same half dozen artists.
