Seems to work for me - try rescanning your library to ensure you don't
have anything stored in the database for this stream.

If I go Right immediately after playing from My Picks I get the
following:

Title: Concertzender

If I go Right when Now playing is showing I get:

Title: tester1
File Format: Windows Media
URL: mms://livemedia.omroep.nl/concertzender-breed

Concertzender is the name I was trying to use.

Does the radio station send metadata - if so slimserver will display
this in place of the name you have given it.

When playing - what does it show when you press right arrow and look at
the info menu for the remote stream?

Good job that Favourites is no longer a plugin then, by the sound of it!

ironicly, this is a dead giveaway for a plugin problem :)
Faves is really only partly plugin, partly core. It really needs to
shed the plugin side. If a user isn't using the feature, the overhead

Sorry, this is the first time SlimServer crashed on me like that. Also
clearly caused by my own stupidity.

However the log events read:

"The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Application ) cannot be
found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry
information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this
description; see Help and Support for details. The following
information is part of the event: Can't use string ("") as a subroutine
ref while "strict refs" in use at /PerlApp/Slim/Buttons/Common.pm line
1081."

Second crash, exact same log.

I'll try 6.3.1.

It doesn't matter which radio station I listen to. Adding it to
Favorites is fine, it's pressing the Favorites button that causes the
crash.

The crash occurs regardless of what I'm playing - Internet radio or my
music library.

[slim] Re: Favorites hang server with large playlists?

2006-03-30 Thread EricBergan

I had built my playlists up based on wmp ratings, and playing with
moodlogic back when it was still somewhat viable.

What is somewhat disappointing is that playlists via browse playlist
seem to be fine, just trying to have one button access to them is
hosed.

I'm certainly not an expert on the code, but in trying to rummage
through it, I'm getting the sense that the imported playlists are
stored into the database, but both favorites and quickaccess don't seem
to be accessing them directly, but rather copying and recreating them,
and I think that's where the processing overhead is coming in. But
that's just a guess, I'd certainly appreciate anyone with a better
understanding (and even better, a fix!) to chime in.

It's my impression that SlimServer doesn't handle playlists optimally
-- it's no problem for around 100 songs or so, but after that, it
rapidly starts to bog down. Most I've ever put into a playlist (via
the webinterface) was about 200 tracks, before it got so unresponsive
that I decided that was enough music to last for a while. :-)

2006-03-30 Thread EricBergan

I've tried switching over to QuickAccess - same problem. 8 to 12 minutes
for the music to start.

Is anyone actually using either of these with large playlists?

The playlists are imported m3u, if that makes any difference.

Note that selecting the playlists directly from "browse playlists"
still works with just a few seconds delay.

Any pointers?

[slim] Re: "Favorites" IR code?

2006-02-09 Thread d_pete

You don't say what universal remote you have or what format you need the
IR code in so I don't know if this is of any use to you.

The IR code (or command or OBC?) would be decimal 24 (i.e. hexadecimal
18).

(You can also arrive at this by counting the buttons and spaces for
buttons on the remote control)

The protocol is NEC and the device number is 110 (decimal) or 6E hex

Hope this helps

Here's a nasty hack: if you don't mind putting a tiny hole in the
remote overlay, you could poke through it at that location with a small
pin to transmit the code and program it into your universal.
