It generally has worked that way for me, but a lot of people have reported the problem you're seeing, so it's not an isolated case. I suggest trying plug/unplug the headphones a couple times to see if that makes it work correctly. If that fails, reboot the SBC and try again. If that fails, look on the forums for various workarounds. The easiest might be an applet someone wrote to force the audio output to the headphones -- sorry, but I forget the name of the applet. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73886 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I tried the Beta enable of the Duet Controller as a player and it worked, except that most of the sound comes out of the built-in speaker and very little from the headphone jack. Re: [slim] Suggested Portable Product
Another option is wireless headphones connected to any Squeezebox, then control it with either iPeng or the Duet Controller. I do this once in a while. Not sure how it compares to an FM transmitter for quality, interference, or range. For me it's more reliable than using headphones with the Controller, but it's been a while since I've tried that. -- MeSue SUE 1 Duet | 2 Booms | 1 Radio (beta) | 1 Touch (beta) | 1 SB2 HP MediaSmart EX470 | Squeezebox Server 7.4 Find me on 'Last.FM' (http://www.last.fm/user/MeSue) | 'Twitter' (http://twitter.com/suechastain) MeSue's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=985 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73886 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Not if you enable it as a player and then select it as a player. I forget the exact menu path, but it's Settings > Advanced > then either Audio Playback or Beta Features. Note that (a) SBC playback is a beta feature and not advertised to work, and (b) it was actually working better for most people under 7.3 then it is now under 7.4. But if you're going to speculate about a suggested future product, may as well as look at an existing product that is already capable of doing what you're looking for and just needs some further tweaking. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73886 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Suggested Portable Product
I presently have a Squeezebox Duet that I have connected to my house stereo. I also have it connected to an FM transmitter so that I can listen to the Squeezebox anywhere in the house with headphones connected to a Walkman FM receiver so I don't disturb anyone else. This, to me, suggests a possible new product for Logitech. It would seem that a portable Squeezebox would be a product with good sales potential. It could be a small ipod style module that would connect to Squeezecenter or mysqueezebox.com over WiFi. Anyone have any thoughts on this? -- crutschow crutschow's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35812 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73886 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
