Hi, This is the address (or the one a few lines below) SC queries for new SBC images. Sometimes when there's a new SC version number the appropriate directory doesn't exist on the update server yet and then you'll see messages like those: Firmware: Failed to download http://update.squeezenetwork.com/update/firmware/7.1/jive.version So this site is not inofficial but more non-public as the code can change and SC will query another address then. Hi, I'd suggest looking for network issues (firewall, dns, ...). I suppose you don't see anything helpful in the logs? There's no firewall in play here and the only DNS is that on my broadband router, which is a different IP range to that of my audio devices, which aren't internet facing. The controller has some bizarre problems working with perfectly ordinary wireless networks - there's got to be something in the Controller firmware that trips it up when connecting to a large number of routers, there are too many people with problems for it to always be a router issue. Today I upgraded to the latest 7.1 stable release. The handset keeps complaining on not being able to upgrade. The logs show: [08-08-03 15:02:10.4741] Slim::Utils::Firmware::downloadAsyncError (500) Warning: Firmware: Failed to download http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.1/jive_7.1_r2722.bin.sha (Validation of firmware C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SqueezeCenter\Cache\jive_7.1_r2722.bin failed, SHA1 checksum did not match), will try again in 10 minutes. For some time during the 7.1 beta you could always pick different Jive.bin from the site ?? Hi, you'll find firmware images at http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/ But this doesn't answer your questions where they're stored on your machine and why they stopped comming. Latest version in my cache (as displayed by settings-status-Cache Folder) ist r2722. [slim] Where is the Controller firmware located now?
As my Conroller refuses to update firmware wirelessly, I've had to resort to the SD card method. The firmware was always located in /var/lib/squeezecenter/cache but after moving from the testing to the main repository and downgrading to 7.1 it seems this is no longer the case. Can someone in the know please advice where said firmware has been relocated to in the 7.1 main build?
