California, Washington D.C. and Europe, respectively. You're probably
connected to the European datacenter, which looks like it's down again.
Normally it only goes down on the weekend, but maybe they're taking
 Easter Monday off.

Does anyone know if it is possible to switch between servers ? i.e. if
the european one goes down can I redirect my box to link to one of the
us ones ??

Yes. Logitech uses a monkey-rigged DNS system that attempts to do a
type of low tech geo targeting to direct you to the 'nearest'
datacenter. If you run your own DNS server, you can hijack the lookups
for the 'mysqueezebox.com' zone and point 'www.mysqueezebox.com' and
'mysqueezebox.com' to whichever datacenter you prefer. I imagine that
it could also be done on some routers by intercepting and redirecting
the IP address.

Re: [slim] squeezenetwork.com network issues

2010-04-05 Thread garym

A few things. First there is no longer any squeezenetwork.com. This is
now called mysqueezebox.com. Second, mysqueezebox.com website is
working fine on my end (in the U.S.). Third, your posting seems to
assume that this forum is an official logitech help site. This is not
the case. This forum is users helping other users. Yes, a few logitech
folks occasionally post here and some read the posts, but there are
direct ways to get connected to support.

This said, you might post some details about your setup, versions of
software, etc. and what error messages you are getting and some folks
here may be able to suggest fixes.

Try a different browser like Fire Fox or Chrome. There is some issue
with some users (myself included) where IE7 will not properly function
on MySB.com.
Although it properly loads I just cannot log in using IE7.

Re: [slim] squeezenetwork.com network issues

2010-04-05 Thread pmerrill

Here in Australia, I have two squeezebox booms and neither are
connecting. I don't use a server. They are both running version 50 of
the software. There's nothing wrong with the wifi as I'm typing this
email from my netbook in the same room as the SBB.

How can you check the server that the boom is connecting to? Anyone
have the address?
