Re: [slim] A question on wake-on-lan
I'll try tonight and report back. I think there's even an enhancement request regarding this behaviour (one I voted for ;)) -- gorman gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42622 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] A question on wake-on-lan
I have the following configuration: -OS Windows XP SP2 -SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 - 18576 (build from today) -Squeezebox v3, Firmware 88 -WOL Configuration is working for power on When I switch back from SqueezeNetwork menu Connect to SqueezeCenter to my non running SqueezeCenter server, there is no WOL package sent (SqueezeCenter doesn't start). I checked this by analyzing the network traffic with wireshark/ethereal. There is no wol package sent from Squeezebox to SqueezeCenter Server. I can force sending the WOL package when I press the power-button or right-button on the remote while the Connecting to SqueezeCenter-screen is appearing. But I think this step shouldn't be necessary, choosing the SqueezeNetwork menu Connect to SqueezeCenter should be enough to wake up my server. Can someone reproduce this behaviour? Is this new firmware available in the standard 6.5.x version or is available only on 7.0 installations? -- gorman gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42622 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] A question on wake-on-lan
Hi Biu No, this is not normal or at least not as it is supposed to be. Switching to SN and then going back should still wake up your local SC. What is the SB firmware version you are using? Thanks Felix -- fcm4711 Everyone said: This cannot be done. But one day someone came along who didn't know about this - and did it. What is the SB firmware version you are using? Thanks Felix Hi Felix, I was using firmware 84 when I had that problem. I have just tried it on version 86. In version 86, it is working now. Was something changed between 84 and 86? Now I feel better that I can use SqueezeNetwork more often and let my server sleep more (saving another 70W while listening to internet radio.) Thanks.
