If we painted the walls white, and then laid out the lights (any type), it
would increase reflected light in the space.

I've always thought that those lights were going to be temporary. They're 
terrible for producing any kind of inviting atmosphere.

I brought in another reflector that may fit, the big fixtures will only
draw 4 amps if there is a 400 watt bulb in there (which iirc only 1 has),
if all fixtures had their proper bulbs I think it would be plenty bright,
perhaps supplementing would be sufficient for the immediate future.  Also,
it has the advantage of not needing at least 16 of those CFLs you mention
for similar lumen output.  MHs are decently efficient, far more than old
florescent, and a T5 setup would be great that would be the better bulb,
but the $1k needed I think has more immediate need elsewhere.  Can we
revisit it after seeing how they look when there all bulbed and running?

Also, when are we getting bulbs for those?

I was working at the space yesterday and I noticed that and "100W" compact
florescent seemed to put out a significant amount of light compared to the
MH lights that are hung in the back. When I asked Andrew how much power the
MH lights took he told me they drew ~4 Amps @ 110V. I was intrigued and
looked at the side of the CF bulb and found that it only draws .380amps.
More than a tenth of the power with a large amount of light. With more
points of light we will have less shadows and an easier time seeing what we
are working on.

I know Andrew, Devin and many others have worked very hard to purchase,
build, test, and install the MH lights but maybe we should evaluate
upgrading to all CF lights for the power savings.

longevity of the CF bulbs. I do see that they might fail more often then
