SSL doesn't address authentication, authorization, data validation, auditing
& logging, configuration management, etc. Lots of other ways to screw up
security.

Re: [ACFUG Discuss] CFUNITED-07 Information

2006-11-02 Thread Teddy Payne
Conferences represent good milestones for personal development.  What can I achieve prior to CF United?  What can I show exhibitors, other developers, potential clients or the conference staff in order to get more visibility?
What can I study to take a certification test? What community involvement can I organize between now and then? These are questions that I have to ask myself after every conference postmortem.

You've been connecting to one of the webservices via SSL in
some of the webmail Flex stuff? I think that would cover most of the security
concerns in passing the data between cf and flex. That's probably one of the
better ways, but I would be curious to know the security around the other
possible methods for flex.

2006-11-02 Thread Teddy Payne
I stayed at the Woodfin Suites in Rockville:http://www.woodfinsuitehotels.com/rockville/The accommodations are not plush or ornate, but their convenience was nice.  They are business suites.  I stayed in a king size bed that had a sofa, love seat, kitchenette, refrigerator and cheap wifi.  They have a shuttle to the Metro and are three stops from the Bethesda Metro location where the conference was at.  They offered grocery shopping while you were away.  Their breakfast was not spectacular, but the food was warm and edible.
I would recommend a rental car as the hotel is about a mile from Rockville Pike aka 355.TeddyOn 11/2/06, Precia <

Teddy, where did you stay at the last conference?  You set up sounded much better than what the Marriott offered.
