kernel and BusyBox. Tolino runs Android (at least on newer devices?).
The Kobo hacking community might be largest.

ereader suggestion with a no-bells and whistles

Dear Freesofware friends,

I am looking for a e-reader. If possible with may be with some
reinstallable OS - I have plenty of PDF and epub from my studies to read.
(Do not need amazon store or whatever DRM). (In germany, available)
