The cheapest Dell there: http://zap.co.il/model.aspx?modelid=715012 Inspiron 1525 15.4" 2.0Ghz 250GB The two cheapest shops offer it with FreeDOS. The third cheapest seels it with XP Home edition. I didn't check further. Another model: http://zap.co.il/model.aspx?modelid=715378 Latitude E6400 14.1" 2.26GHZ 160GB Likewise: two cheapest offer it with FreeDOS. Third cheapest offers it with Vista Home edition. A more expensive model: http://zap.co.il/model.aspx?modelid=695437 Latitude D830 15.4" 2.4Ghz 160GB This time two cheaest shops sell it with Vista Business edition and third cheapest offers it with FreeDOS. And for something in the not-so-cheap-category: http://zap.co.il/model.aspx?modelid=708469 Precision M6300 17" 2.6GHZ 160GB All three cheapest shops offer it with Vista Business edition (one also bundles in MS-Office, another allows choosing between XP-Pro and Vista-Business). So what have we learned today? 1. XP Home is more expensive than FreeDOS 2. FreeDOS is more expensive than Vista-Business (err... hmm...) -- Tzafrir Cohen | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | VIM is http://tzafrir.org.il || a Mutt's [EMAIL PROTECTED] || best ICQ# 16849754 || friend ___ Discussions mailing list Discussions@hamakor.org.il http://hamakor.org.il/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discussions

Zvi, - First, congratulations for winning this important battle ! - Second, I myself intend to buy a laptop in the near future. And indeed, after surfing many israeli websites, I found out that all of them come with windows. I don't intend to use windows on my laptop. So may I ask: How long this process you ran took ? (from going to court till getting that payment) ? what do you advice me to do ? Or let's put it this way: it seems that your important struggle took a lot of time and headache. You won your case. However, from what appears in that news item, I doubt whether it is a precedent. They say there that it was a "pshara", and it says there that they are not binded by this case and it is "לפנים משורת הדין", So what do you advice me to do ? to buy and then to go to court ? It seems to me that all the hassle of such a procedure , and traveling from the north the vendor offices (usually in the center) and back in case I will win it, is simply is not acceptable for me. And if I am not wrong, I heard that there are man known vendors who seel laptops with free linux abroad. And this is true for quite a time.
