[diversity-talk] OSM-US board of directors

2014-09-30 Thread Frederik Ramm
Dear diversity-talk readers,

I'm not normally following here - it seems that this list is rather
dormant of late, with an outburst of diversity-related discussion
recently having taken place on the osmf-talk list instead of here.

However, assuming that there are at least a couple of people still
reading this list, I'd like to draw your attention to the upcoming
elections of the OSM-US board of directors

http://wiki.osm.org/wiki/Foundation/Local_Chapters/United_States/Elections/2014

and there's also been a couple postings here

https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-us/2014-September/013608.html

If I am not mistaken, then at the time of writing the line-up consists
exclusively of white males, whereas in last year's election there were
as many as four female contenders (of which two were elected to the
current board).

Being a white male myself there's little I can do about this except
mentioning the situation here, and using my vote as an OSM-US member to
help diversity if given the chance.

Bye
Frederik
