Follow this guide:

https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/django-sign-up-and-login-with-confirmation-email-python/amp/

Kindly generate your app password as Google no longer supports usage of
actual password in localhost app.
This feature only works with 2FA enabled on your Google account.

2022-11-15 Thread Lakshyaraj Dash
Hello everyone,
I'm on my way to create a quiz app. I want that a loggedin user should get
5 questions randomly when he/she is visiting everytime.
Eg:
On first visit
Q1. Who's the CEO of Facebook ?

On second visit
Q2. Who's the CEO of Google ?

Thanks and regards

Set the STATIC_ROOT conf as follows

STATIC_ROOT = os.path.join(BASE_DIR, 'staticfiles')

Also see of you've allowed that particular host.

Re: Email Sending In Django not working

2022-11-09 Thread Lakshyaraj Dash
Even if Google has stopped the support, emails can be still sent using two
step verification and generating app passwords after enabling two step
verification. Please update you email password with the generated app
password.

Steps:
1. Go to manage my Google account
2. Go to security tab
3. Enable two step verification and verify yourself
4. Create your app passwords after the app passwords in the security
settings is visible
5. Select the app name (or add your custom app name) and click generate.
6. Copy the app password as it's view once and cannot be viewed after the
pop up is closed.
7. Go to your settings.py file and replace your actual email password with
the generated app password.

Yay! You're all set.

Dear It's Alladin, please try this also to the one who asked this question
please try it once.

Thanks and Regards

It's more likely that google is not accepting the credentials you are

You can do it without using the django.core.mail. I've written an article

Follow up and hope the article helps you

Re: how to connect mongodb in my project,

2022-10-26 Thread Lakshyaraj Dash
I would prefer postgresql more thn mongodb because it's easier to use
postgresql if you have a little knowledge of SQL commands and on the other
hand you need json objects to deal with mongodb.

Leaving all of the above content, there's a package called djongo you can
use. But it has many issues like basic crud operations issue.

I would prefer postgresql more than mongodb to you.

Re: Help to implement custome user login

2022-08-05 Thread Lakshyaraj Dash
You can add fields to the default django user model by using the
AbstractUser class from django.contrib.auth.models, you can't change the
default fields. Rather you'll need to write your custom user model
containing OTP and mobile number instead of username or password.

Re: Why do we need Django rest framework when our conventional django do what we want?

2022-07-31 Thread Lakshyaraj Dash
You need drf aka DjangoRestFramework because it provides a smooth api for
your application. It comes into use whenever you're trying to have a
javascript framework like ReactJS or NextJS or Angular or VueJS etc... On
the client side. If you inject js framework in the frontend you also need a
package called django-cors-headers.

You can also use drf with django if you don't have any js frameworks in the
client side. In this case you don't need a cors headers package.

Re: create browser api

2022-07-13 Thread Lakshyaraj Dash
First thing is Disqus is made in django and you must know how to handle
comments and replies system in django then you can proceed to build your
api.
It's really easy to handle comments and replies in django than flask. In
flask you need some time to do that. But in django with the help of foreign
keys and your custom templatetag filters you can do that.

Hi guys I want a solution from your side.
I am having a cutom authentication in django. I want to have a login with
google option that gets the user's email address and authenticates with
django backend.
Note that the username must not be the google username, it should be the
username saved in the django model.

Like my google username is CodeWithLaksh and the django username is
rohan123, I want to display rohan123 instead of CodeWithLaksh. Hopr you all
understand my problem. Please provide my a solution (*if any).

if request.user.is_authenticated:
user = request.user
if (post.author.username == user):
# your code here
else:
# show yor error that you cannot edit other
user's post

Re: Static files not found

2022-02-03 Thread Lakshyaraj Dash X-D 25
Ok! Actually I had not looked properly to your file. The line that I had
given was already in STATIC_ROOT. If you have debug=False, then you can run
something like this :
python manage.py runserver --insecure

It will serve your static files while the debug mode is set to false.
