I think alsa offers lower latency/jitter over OSS, hence why it was popular. 

It's sad to see OSS gone completely now I think about it, with alsa 
misconfiguring drivers every time a hdmi capable device is being used. I also 
remember not needing many userland tools to use it, so it had that going for it 
too. Mostly hindsight though because I didn't think to question things then.

nice, I found that apt-get install sysvinit-core isn't needed to upgrade 
anymore either :)

[DNG] Upgrading a MIPSel Jessie to Devuan

Hi,

can I perform an "upgrade" from Debian Jessie to Devuan, as described on
devuan.org, on a system running MIPSel architecture Debian?

Poking around in http://packages.devuan.org/devuan/pool/ I can see
amd64, ARM* and i386 packages, but not a single MIPSel one.  

So is MIPS not currently supported?
