[DNG] After installation

Hi list,

after installation of Devuan 1.0 beta with dev1fanboy wiki 
(https://git.devuan.org/dev1fanboy/Upgrade-Install-Devuan/wikis/home) I 
must add configuration to enable hibernate, restart, shutdown and 
suspend option (they are greyed). I use startx without session manager 
to start XFCE4.


If someone would have a similar problem then:

1) create new file i.e. "consolekit.pkla" in 
"/etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/"


2) paste this content to newly created file:

[restart]
Identity=unix-user:
Action=org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.restart
ResultAny=yes

[stop]
Identity=unix-user:
Action=org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.stop
ResultAny=yes

[hibernate]
Identity=unix-user:
Action=org.freedesktop.upower.hibernate
ResultAny=yes

[suspend]
Identity=unix-user:
Action=org.freedesktop.upower.suspend
ResultAny=yes

3) Replace  to proper user name.

Only when the machine(s) were created as non-root.

[DNG] libvirt - can't create snapshot

Hi,

I test devuan with libvirt (Virtual Machine Manager 0.9.1) on Debian 
7.11. I would like to create snapshot but when I type as root:
1) "virsh snapshot-create-as --domain devuan_jessie --name snapshot1 
--description "clear system"

error: failed to get domain 'devuan_jessie'
error: An error occurred, but the cause is unknown".

2) "virsh list --all"
command return empty list.


Has anyone had this problem before?

it is included, the files are tagget NETINST


Hi Jaromil,

mini.iso has 28 MB instead of 212 MB for 
devuan_jessie_1.0.0-beta_amd64_NETINST.iso. I prefer 28 MB iso :-)


I think that PXE installer should be explicitly added to 
https://files.devuan.org/devuan_jessie_beta/ too.

How to check integrity of this SHA256SUMS file and how to ensure the
data is the same as it was when it was originally created - how to
verify digital signature of this file (if it have digital signature). I
never verified digital signature with gpg.

on Devuan CD ISO is less than 1500 deb packages so You canno't install
complete setup without network.

In beta (amd64) is still /etc/devuan_version file only without
/etc/debian_version.

In my opinion (take into account maintenance of other packages which are
dependent on /etc/debian_version) at this stage symbolic link ln -s
/etc/devuan_version /etc/debian_version should be create. Later
/etc/debian_version should be removed.

qemu-img convert -f qcow2 qcow2_file -O vdi vdi_file
if you have qemu-utils installed.
