That's because the package is indeed called "debian-installer". I
don't think we will rename it. d-i is a big hairball, where things
break so easily that breathing close to your computer while rebuilding
a d-i component is strongly discouraged... ;)

The tar.gz for the graphical installer is inside the folder "gtk":

https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/devuan/dists/ascii/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/gtk/

Thanks for reporting, indeed.

I did as you told me and modified my scripts for the setup. I would like
to give a short report on at least two things I found:

1. The tar archiv expands to a directory with name "debian-installer"
not "devuan-installer" so my search and replace in the script does
   not generate a working skript.
2. Both (jessie and ascii) installer did not offer a graphical install.

Perhaps it helps to make devuan a littel bit better.

Many thanks for your support
Rolf

Hi Rolf,

welcome home. The procedure and configuration for netboot is the same
as in Debian. Just download the .tar.gz you need:

 (jessie)
https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/devuan/dists/jessie/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz

 (ascii)
https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/devuan/dists/ascii/main/installer-amd64/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz

tar -zxf it, and then let your bootp/dhcpd config point to the
relevant folder.

[DNG] Bootp Installation of devan

2018-04-23 Thread rattenkopf
Hi,

I'm new on this list but an old (in age too) user of linux (since about
20 years) and, as you can imagine not a friend of systemd.
Till now I used Debian on my computers include a lot of kvm-based
virtual machines.
The current reason, why I join the mailing is, that I found no hints for
a bootp config for devuan either jessie nor ascii.

Is there something I can use?

Fine regards
Rolf
