Devuan has lightdm from Debian, without any changes, but if you want to use light-locker with it, then enable jessie-proposed repo. ___ Dng mailing list Dng@lists.dyne.org https://mailinglists.dyne.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dng

Wait until your password expires and you need to change it, there is nothing in slim to do this. It is ironic that the best display manager to use on a Unix AD domain member is gdm3, the only problem is the rest of the rubbish that comes with it (aka Gnome3) Rowland ___ Dng mailing list Dng@lists.dyne.org https://mailinglists.dyne.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dng
Re: [DNG] Uninstallable packages on ascii
FWIW, I've joined a Devuan machine to a Windows AD domain with samba/winbind and have no problems logging in with a domain user from slim when properly setup. I'll admit it's not as nice as lightdm in that it doesn't show a list of previous login names, but it is basically functional as a GUI login screen. I'll try installing lightdm to see how that goes on Devuan compared to Ubuntu. Does anyone recommend other display managers on Devuan? -- Tom > On 19 Jun 2017, at 21:09, Rowland Pennywrote: > > On Mon, 19 Jun 2017 20:34:49 +1000 > Tom wrote: > >> Both slim and rsyslog are uninstallable on ascii. This should allow ascii to become installable from scratch. The package should be available shortly. I will announce it here. It is not just a matter of stripping deps, but of being sure that you are not throwing the baby alongside with dirty water. And we can't fail on a package like rsyslog. One of the first things I do after installing Devuan is replace slim with lightdm.
