Re: [DNG] mate-1.14 layout

2016-11-02 Thread Antonio Volpicelli
Hello to all and thank to all, before 2 or 3 weeks ago I wouldn't have never
imagined doing all of this.

The work on mate going well but now

I would like to know from you if there is something wrong and

what would you like to have and what you want to improve.

Bug, human errors:

Have you noticed something wrong? some error in the packages? A few bugs?

Apparence:

We want a different layout for this DE??

and if you want a different layout how as it should be?

How applets you want on default installation?

Golinux ask all what you want don't warry. About your question I never place
this problem, I think dconf-editor get do your case :

org --> gnome--> mutter
or
org -->mate --> marco --> general

and flag the option "center new windows "

Accomplish install uninstalling some packages manually.

I finally had to reinstall the package slim because the system I was not
in graphics mode, only entered the console.

When I installed slim everything was solved.

All this test was in a virtual pc with a clean install.

cd /home/idonis/Descargas/mate1.14/
dpkg -i *.deb
apt-get -f install
apt-get remove mate-media-pulse
apt-get remove mate-settings-daemon
apt-get remove mate-media-gstreamer
apt-get remove mate-settings-daemon-pulse
apt-get remove mate-utils
dpkg -i *.deb
apt-get autoremove
reboot

apt-get install slim
reboot

Best Regards

| ISMAEL |

I have fear install it on my base system since I have installed many things
and my knowledge of Linux still is not much. I have always been dedicated to
develop soft for windows in a virtual pc.

I come with debian linux from 6 without reinstalling I used:
debian 6
debian 7
debian 8
and finally devuan 1

I personally think mate1.14 works well and could be introduced in devuan
jessie or ascii

What do you think?

PD: I realize programs for Windows because in my country linux little used
although its use is being promoted. in fact it belongs in one gropo free
software from there my email account slibre "free software = software libre"
Right now I'm starting to develop in lazarus and python.

Ismael : today I uploades i386 packages
Massimiliano: I have not seen the source code of the mate 1.16, usually
is not hard but for some packages you need to modify 2 o 3 file to
remove systemd dependencies (control and rules in "debian" folder), in
the next few days I try to write a short tutorial

Hi Antonio,

Did you have to tweak some build options? I'm currently using 1.16 on
Ascii installed from the "stock" packages, would it be a hard task if I
would rebuild them the same way?
