Well, it would be possible, and it would break lots of existing links.
For no gain.

For a short URL into the dnsmasq pages, https://dnsmasq.org is better
than https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq anyway, and that already works.

Hello Simon,

Thanks for your last changes on the website!

About the files currently in http://www.thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/

It is possible:
- to move "all" into a subfolder and create a redirection to new place
- to rename the doc.html to index.html

And to redirect:
- doc.html to index.html
- https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/archive/ to
https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/pub/archive/
- https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/dnsmasq-2.84.tar.gz to
https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/pub/dnsmasq-2.84.tar.gz
- ...
- https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/dnspooq-patches/ to
https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/pub/dnspooq-patches/
- https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/release-candidates/ to
https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/pub/release-candidates/
- https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/test-releases/ to
https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/pub/test-releases/

Do not move: docs/images.

And the last point, edit the index.html with the new download place.

Neustradamus

https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/ is currently the download directory,
so putting an index.html file in there will sure confuse anyone
expecting a list of files to download.

The site dnsmasq.org exists, and gets straight to the dnsmasq pages on
thekelleys.org.uk, that probably scratches most of you itch.

It's worth pointing out that we've only just joined the 21st century and
got https working (It was waiting on my finding time to upgrade the
server from Debian 6 to Debian 10, so that LetsEncrypt would work.)

I've just done a massive rationalisation of the Apache configs, which
have mutated over the years, then been automatically extended by
letEncrypt as well.

Everything should now redirect to https://thekelleys.org.uk

One mystery: can anyone explain why www.thekelleys.org.uk should render
with a different font size than thekelleys.org.uk on Chromium running on
Ubuntu 20.04, but only on one of my laptops?

The modern web is voodoo.

Simon might appriciate if you could provide the redirect rules that you
suggest if you think that could improve the web site.

The web server in question is 'Apache/2.4.38 (Debian) Server at
thekelleys.org.uk Port 443'.

Hello Simon,

It is possible to rename https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/doc.html to
https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/index.html?
And create a redirection of doc.html to https://thekelleys.org.uk/dnsmasq/?

At the same time, to be really better, redirect http://thekelleys.org.uk/* +
https://thekelleys.org.uk/* + http://www.thekelleys.org.uk/* to
https://thekelleys.org.uk/*?

Currently there are 4 same "websites":

After it, it will be really better, SEO too.
