I'm looking for help translating Askbot (http://askbot.com/): an
open-source StackOverflow clone.

Askbot manages translations using transifex.net. I created an Arabic
translation project there, at:

https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/askbot/language/ar/

This is a call for help and contribution to the translation. Askbot in
Arabic would be a significant help for Arabic communities, and a much
more effective discussion tool compared to the dominant but chaotic
Forum format.

I am interested in the technical dictionary project.
I believe it can be an invaluable resource for translators, and would
help with consistency in translation.

However, I'm finding its current format somewhat inaccessible. I
appreciate that there is elaborate documentation, but the fact that one
needs to go through all that documentation to be able to use or
contribute to the dictionary is a rather steep barrier-to-entry, for a
support service.

So, to start with, in the dictionary's current format:

 1. How do I lookup a term?
 2. How do I add, edit, or comment on a term?
 3. Has there been any suggestions for alternative formats?

In the top left corner of the wiki you'll find a search box with a عA
label, this is it.

  2. How do I add, edit, or comment on a term?

Every term is a wiki page, and the comments are in the talk page. There
used to be a button for creating a term using the correct template but
it's broken right now. As for editing, it's a wiki, just create an
account and edit. (However, don't modify a term before discussing it
first).

  3. Has there been any suggestions for alternative formats?

I thought of writing some webapp thing, but there are more important
things to do right now. And the wiki format has the advantage of being
relatively easy to use (it's just like wikipedia after all), and more
importantly, it's here.

HTH,
Abderrahim
