Re: Work Experiene

2016-03-04 Thread Jessica Steel
Hi Keith,

That sounds fantastic, thanks again for writing the letter. I have
proof read the Writer Guide main links page. I will make my way
through the remaining links as well.

On a side note, if there is any actually writing or content that has
yet to be written that needs to be, perhaps I can be of service. I am
strongly consider starting a Graduate Diploma or Certificate (I'm not
sure what you call them where you are from) in Information Technology
to broaden my technical writing scope. I have an interest in the
subject and I am eager to learn more. I am open to thoughts or
suggestions if you have any. Otherwise what I do currently is also
fine.

Thanks one more time,

Jess

Hello Keith,

I am equally apologetic for taking so long to respond, it appears we
are both busy people. A short letter would be more convenient, but I
understand if time constraints don't make this ideal for you.

Also I was perusing the User Guide Status page and noticed the Writer
Guide needs a proofread. I clicked on it to explore further and found
this page is mostly a series of links. I was wondering if it is just
this page that needs proofreading, or does each link on this page then
need to be proofread also?

Thanks again,

Jess

Work Experiene

Hi Keith,

Is it possible to use you as a reference for my work experience in
technical writing? I would like to add I will still continue to
volunteer regardless. Is it entirely up to you how you would like to
approach this, whether you would prefer to give a brief letter of
referral or offer an email address to contact you by.

Thanks,

Re: New Volunteer - Technical Writing Experience

2016-01-17 Thread Jessica Steel
Hello,

I have set up a login and read the contributions page and I am
currently working my way into the user guide. Please let me know where
to begin or how I can be of assistance. As I do not know the project
yet I am most interested in anything that can gain me practical
experience in technical writing, be it manuals, software application
instructions, user guides, or even basic documentation: I am at your
disposal.

Thanks,

Jessica

New Volunteer - Technical Writing Experience

2016-01-10 Thread Jessica Steel
Hello,

I am an Australian who would like to be a volunteer. I have a Bachelor
in Writing and I have
just completed a Certificate in Technical Writing as well. I am now
seeking to gain some work experience in technical writing with Apache.

I have read through the Orientation Modules and subscribed to this
mailing list. Any guidance or advice would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Jessica
