[libreoffice-documentation] LO set-up options - View options

2013-02-04 Thread John Smith

Hi
Could someone with a Linux set-up please confirm, or otherwise, that the
Automatic icon style is KDE or Gnome as stated in the documentation.
In Windows it is Automatic(Tango). I'm just after confirmation of the
Automatic setting.

Thanks
JohnS

Thanks Tom :-)  Must say the docs are getting so much better than back
in the old days of OOo. Kudos to those who have worked so hard on them.

Just to let you know about the help files, a FR group has updated the
Help Authoring tool and will soon begin to work on the content to
complete and update it.
When we will be ready (there is some learning before beginning) we will
let you know, I think it will be really good to work together on this.
The local help is used a lot by our user base (at least in our
community) and we would like to offer them the same quality it has some
times ago.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] LO set-up options - View options

2013-02-04 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
I am using Automatic Tango in Ubuntu 10.04 (or something).  I think this is the
version downloaded from the official LibreOffice website rather than the
Ubuntu-ised version from their repos but i'm not sure.

I found how to check the icon set from this wiki-guide
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Production#Sample_screenshots

The choice of the LO icon set is found in Tools Options
LibreOffice View; in the User Interface section of that page,
under Icon size and style, choose Galaxy (default).

Tom :)

I can confirm that the statement is true for the Debian version of

When KDE is selected for the icon set, the Automatic icon style is

So, it is possible that the Automatic icon style is determined by

p.412. ...Form Navigator, it's... ASCII apostrophe. Actually it is
would be better here.

p.418. Bad reference in Tip. Should be Fig 426. The reference to Fig
430 is correct.

p.422. item 2) in second list: bullets should be letters.

pp.424-5. Perhaps the first paragraph of p.425 could be moved up to
p.424.

The extension has been adapted to LO4.0, so it's ready to use. I've
retrieved the template and found an old documentation for the Authoring
tool (that needs to be adapted). I'm writing an how-to in French
currently. But if anybody wants to jump him now, I'll be pleased to

sources, etc.

Even out-dated, it can be of help and some of us (localizers) have begun
several years ago. It can help our users to understand most of the icons
and menus entries in the software, they can not be trained through it,
but understand what it does (what a online help is done for ;)

[libreoffice-documentation] LO set-up options - View options

2013-02-04 Thread John Smith

Thank you to all who replied.
May I just repeat that I only want to know what the Automatic setting is
(Automatic(xx) in Tools-Options-LibreOffice-View in the User
Interface icon style list box.
This is only to verify the accuracy of the statement in the guide,
irrespective of what we change to for our own use.

If that alters anyone's answer please feel feel free to respond.
Again, thank you for taking the time.

Hi everyone.

As I work on different chapters there is a noticeable feature, which to me,
looks quite ugly.
It's the line thickness used in circles, ellipses, arrows and so on, which we
use to mark up the graphics.
Some detract considerably from the quality of the graphic and look downright
amateurish.
The colours used don't bother me so much.

May I suggest that we decide that lines either do, or don't, use arrow heads,
and that line thickness for all these items is kept to 2 or 3 pixels?
Obviously I can't attach examples, as the list strips out attachments, but I'm
sure most will have come across instances.
