Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Wiki page "Other Resources"

2018-11-28 Thread Drew Jensen
Howdy,

The last entry on the Documentation talk page is regarding the fr wiki page
use of three categories,
End users, Developers and Documentation Team.

I would agree that this is preferable. I would tweak it a bit by have the
Developers section have two subsections; Application and Scripts/Extensions.

If people agree with that I would do the work on the English page.

Best wishes,

Drew

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Doc team meeting minutes 2018 -11-28

2018-11-28 Thread Drew Jensen
From another thread on ML currently
(Wiki page "Other Resources")

// lots of good stuff at
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Third_Party_Resources

// and interesting stuff here
"I was still pondering how to organize things when I got side-tracked by
other things, but you can see what I was thinking at the time on the
Documentation
talk page and my
user
page ."

There is a bunch of reference material.

It might be as easy as the 'more' button on the
documentaiton.libreoffice.org page reference either the documentation page
on the wiki or the Third Party Resources page?

During the meeting there was some discussion about FAQs & HowTos
(Tutorials) and how to build a collection of the same. For years these
have been available, although somewhat neglected, on the documentation
wiki at: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation

Some time ago I requested infra to add these to the Documentation
website pages, with the result that they were added to the side panel
of: https://documentation.libreoffice.org/en/english-documentation/ A
subsequent update of that page appears to have removed those links.
Consequently those links are not readily visible to people visiting the
Documentation website pages.

Rather than overload the guides with FAQ' & Tutorials, maybe we should
work on updating these wiki pages and add appropriate links in the guides.

Just a thought.

Dave

be worked on.
    - Apply the new template to the converted chapter.
    - Updated the chapter's technical content.
    - Final stage chapter cleanup & review.
    Dave:

  * Complete the old -> new styles conversion list for Drew's script (Dave)

  * Complete the 2nd. draft of the 6.x template (Dave)

  * The first item is somewhat interdependent on the second one, but
both are reasonably close to completion

To circumvent: For each image inside the chapter, anchor the

Select the image in the frame, click mouse button 2, select

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Wiki page "Other Resources"

2018-11-28 Thread Kenneth Hanson
The idea was as follows. "Other resources" would be links to miscellaneous
wiki pages, while "Third Party Resources" is for links to external sites.
If the names are not obvious enough, I would support changing them.

I was still pondering how to organize things when I got side-tracked by
other things, but you can see what I was thinking at the time on the
Documentation
talk page and my user
page .

[libreoffice-documentation] Re: Proposed XHP extensions

2018-11-28 Thread Olivier Hallot
Hi all concerned in writing Help pages!

I patched the LibreOffice Help submodule code with the following
extensions to XHP

Class Paragraph-like

 ...

, and

Class Character-like

, , , ,

All these extensions above are documented in the XHP reference page in

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Understanding,_Authoring_and_Editing_Openoffice.org_Help/3

Patch is

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/63954/

IMPORTANT

In any case these extensions break the existing markup and contents.

Please do not change existing contents based on these extensions, it
will force a useless re-translation.

However, it is OK when updating contents,  and use the opportunity to
also apply the extended markup.

Kind regards

Olivier
