+1
I think we should stick with the technically correct terminology of
"Raster Graphic".

Hi Toni,

The only chapter templates I can find on the wiki are the obsolete ones
at the bottom of this page:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Development/User_Guides

It is fairly safe to say that the template in the
NextCloud Contributor Resources folder (currently 6.x) will always be
the one the docs team will have agreed to use.

Unfortunately, most of the documentation information on the wiki is
either out of date or work in progress.

Hi Peter,

preferred Raster Graphics or Bitmap Images?

Raster graphics are bitmap images.

Bitmap images is the more widely known file format and uses the extension BMP.

Does LO stay in the past or move forwards to modern times?

"Raster graphic" is the opposite to "Vector graphic" and covers more
then "Bitmap", which is usually only used for BMP. "Raster graphic"
covers png and jpg too, for example.

Kind regards
Regina

[libreoffice-documentation] Template in NextCloud

2020-04-06 Thread Toni B
Hello!

Is the LibreOffice_6.x_Template.ott (197 KB, 10 months ago) located in the
NextCloud Contributor Resources folder the most updated template that I
should use to edit the documents? Or is their one on the Wiki that is the
one that gets updated the most?

Thank you for your guidance!

Have a safe and awesome day!

[libreoffice-documentation] Draw Guide Version 6.4 — Raster Graphics and Picture Toolbar

2020-04-06 Thread Peter Schofield
I have started updating Version 4.3 Chapter 6 Editing Pictures to Version 6.4,
but have come across a problem.

This chapter mentions raster graphics, which are bitmap images, and how to
edit/format them using Picture toolbar and Graphic Filter toolbar. I think that
both of these toolbars have been replaced with Image and Image Filter,
respectively. However, there is no mention of these toolbars in the LO Help.

Can someone point me in the right direction so that this chapter is updated
correctly, or provide with information on the changes.
