Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-05 Thread Felipe Viggiano
Hello everyone,

I appreciate very much the thanks! But what I'm doing is just a small part
of great work from everyone involved!

Steve,
Of course I can wait!. The more feedbacks on the guide before publishing
the better!
About the links, apparently, the "Figures" links are OK and the "Pages"
ones are the issue. As I could observe here, they are leading to where they
are supposed to, but the exhibited numbers are incorrect.
Example: On page 22, the link mentioned is taking the user to the correct
section - Using the navigator (which is in fact on page 39), however, it
wrongfully shows the number 41.
I'm starting to work on that issue right now.

Dave,
As soon as I can fix every issue pointed I will surely let you know.

One question to the group:
I'm using the Published folder for the files, should I move to the Draft
folder and put back on Published only after finishing?

Best regards,
Felipe Viggiano

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-05 Thread Dave Barton
Hi Martin,

This was "briefly" discussed at today's Docs meeting.

"Briefly", because some recent attempts to use the odtclean script have
failed and it was agreed that Oliver will contact Milos about this issue.

Be assured we (The Docs Team) always take into account that the guides
must be made available in a translatable format. However, you must also
understand that the Calc Guide is currently still "work in progress" and
has not yet reached it's fully "Published" state.

Best Regards
Dave

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-05 Thread Martin Srebotnjak
Hello,

could this guide's chapters - as well as other guides' chapters upon being
finished - be cleaned with the odtclean script my Milos to remove unwanted
formatting code and help l10n teams?

I suggest this becoming a part of the official procedure, as documented in
the guide for writing guides (Producing LO Guides): I suggest adding a
point/step in the "Publishing Chapters" subchapter (between points 7 and 8).

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Update on Calc Guide

2020-11-05 Thread Steve Fanning

Hi Felipe,

Excellent job, thank you very much.

I have had a look through about 50% of the document and spotted a few
minor typos. I haven't got time to finish today (UK time) but will do so
tomorrow. Can you wait for those comments before publishing?

One problem which may be more than a typo is that the links to page
numbers within the text don't seem to land at the correct page. For
example, towards the top of page 22 is a link to page 41; for me
clicking the link takes me to the bottom of page 39. On page 82 is a
link to "Figure 43 on page 70"; in this case clicking on the figure
number takes you to the correct place while clicking on the page number
lands on page 66.

Regards,

Steve

[libreoffice-documentation] Documentation team call is today at 18:00 UTC - Draw Guide

2020-11-05 Thread Peter Schofield
Hello Olivier

Forgot about the Draw Guide.

I shape be seriously starting the update to version 7.0 on the Draw Guide as I
am coming to th end of the Impress Guide.

I shall be using a lot of information from the Impress Guide, suitably
modified, because these two guides use very similar tools.

Cannot give a forecast, but should complete the Draw Guide in January.

I shall also be updating the Draw chapter in the GS Guide, make sure the info
matches the Draw Guide.

[libreoffice-documentation] Documentation team call is today at 18:00 UTC - Impress Guide details

2020-11-05 Thread Peter Schofield
Hello Olivier

Cannot attend the meeting, but here are details on the Impress Guide.

I am about to complete Chapter 9 Slide Shows to Version 7.0. That will be today
5 Nov 2020.

Chapters 4 to 8 and 13 have been reviewed and just waiting for me to go through
the review comments and make the updates. I will then place version 02 of these
chapters in th Work In Progress folder for 2nd review.

Chapters 0 to 2 are already in the Published folder.

Chapters 10 to 12 are waiting for my attention, but these should be quickly
dealt with, about 2 to 3 weeks.

I will be updating the Impress chapter in the Getting Started Guide once I have
finished Chapter 9 Slide Shows. That way the info the GS guide will match the
Impress Guide.

Hope that helps in the meeting.

Regards

Peter Schofield
