[libreoffice-documentation] Impress Chapter 2
Hello Everyone, I just would like to let you know that I have reviewed and uploaded the second Impress chapter in the Draft folder. Overall, I tried not to make too many changes from the initial version. I added comments to the new sections I have added. These are just suggestions. Feel free to remove these sections if you don't think they are necessary. I also tried to edit the structure of long sentences and paragraphs so they are shorter. I also checked for spacing at the end of lines and paragraphs. If you notice that something could be done better in this review, please let me know, and I will be happy to improve it. Thank you, Peter, Dave, and Dan. Your advice is very useful. Peter tested it at his end and it worked ok for him. I probably have a different setup. I was able to import a new template in a way Dave described it. But for some reason, adding the folder with new templates to the path of Templates dialog didn't help me. However, thank you all for your good advice. From Peter's description, I can see that the Importing Template Collections section works fine. Hello Everyone, I am currently revising the 2nd Impress chapter. I am trying to add new templates to the Impress 6.4 version through the Extension Manager (Tools > Extension Manager.) It doesn't work for me. In instructions, it is said that I have to download an .OXT file from http://templates.libreoffice.org/template-center First, I wasn't able to find .OXT file. Most of the files are in otp format. I tried to add other formats as an extension. However, it didn't update in my Templates dialog. I must have missed something. It would be helpful if someone could advise me on it. Hi Peter and Jean, Yes, I have started working on revising the Impress Guide - so far I have revised chapters 1 and 2. These few weeks the process is slow as I am preparing for the interview and test as well. That is nice to know that you, Peter worked on Impress before. Files deleted earlier than Feb 2 were considered as normal delete operation. If not let me know. We will try to find a process to improve security and robustness of NextCloud service. Hi Everyone, My apologies, I have just realized that I haven't responded to the list. The below is the screenshot of an error message. I have also tested it on the same computer but from the first user account ( I didn't have a button to create a new folder there, but I was able to create it manually with the right-click of the mouse.) Then I tested it on my laptop, where I am the only user and here I came across the same error. Since we cannot see your error my best guess is that maybe you are trying to create create a directory somewhere within the file system where you do not have write permission. Hello Everyone, I have edited Introducing Impress, Chapter 1 (uploaded in the Draft folder). It is my first review so feel free to let me know of anything that could be done differently. I am wondering if we have LibreOffice audience profile? I think that it could be useful to have one when editing documentation. Would that be helpful to do a survey or something similar, where we can find out more information about our audiences? Maybe demographics, their goals, pain points when using LibreOffice, what other similar applications they are using, etc? I could look into that too.
