[Documentation-packages] [Bug 2013332] Re: bold font used now where it shouldn't

2023-04-01 Thread Colin Watson
I'm also seeing this in Google Docs when the Ubuntu font is used. It
looks awful, especially when some of the text is in italic. I'm pretty
sure it is bold, since selecting some text and marking it as bold makes
no visible difference.

  bold font used now where it shouldn't

Status in fonts-ubuntu package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  The new font in lunar now makes apps use a bold font where it wasn't
  before, like for instance in rhythmbox in the music list etc, or
  firefox tab names, lauchpad "status/importance/milestone/" menus etc.

[Documentation-packages] [Bug 2012951] [NEW] UbuntuMono symlinks are wrong

2023-03-27 Thread Colin Watson
Public bug reported:

A debdiff from 0.83-6ubuntu1 to 0.863-0ubuntu1 shows, in part:

lrwxrwxrwx  root/root   /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu/Ubuntu-B.ttf ->
Ubuntu[wdth,wght].ttf
lrwxrwxrwx  root/root   /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu/Ubuntu-BI.ttf ->
Ubuntu-Italic[wdth,wght].ttf
lrwxrwxrwx  root/root   /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu/Ubuntu-R.ttf ->
Ubuntu[wdth,wght].ttf
lrwxrwxrwx  root/root   /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu/Ubuntu-RI.ttf ->
Ubuntu-Italic[wdth,wght].ttf
lrwxrwxrwx  root/root   /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu/UbuntuMono-B.ttf ->
Ubuntu-Italic[wdth,wght].ttf
lrwxrwxrwx  root/root   /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu/UbuntuMono-BI.ttf ->
UbuntuMono-Italic[wght].ttf
lrwxrwxrwx  root/root   /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu/UbuntuMono-R.ttf ->
Ubuntu-Italic[wdth,wght].ttf
lrwxrwxrwx  root/root   /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu/UbuntuMono-RI.ttf ->
UbuntuMono-Italic[wght].ttf

The UbuntuMono-B and UbuntuMono-R symlinks here are clearly wrong: they
should point to `UbuntuMono[wght].ttf` instead. (My terminals look much
less awful after fixing that locally.)

  Re-enabling Hibernate for multiple users on Ubuntu 14.04

  [Impact]
  The main reason for this SRU request is to build ubuntu-docs in trusty with
updated translations, in order to prepare for a scheduled update of the trusty
language packs.

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/TrustyTahr/ReleaseSchedule

  The fact that the fix of this bug report gets backported is a bonus.
  ;)

  [Test Case]
  Start yelp, browse to the power-hibernate page and find that the updated
package includes a multiple-sessions action item.

  [Regression Potential]
  Can't think of anything.

  [Original description]
  For enabling the Hibernate function the documentation is outdated (it doesn´t
mention for multiple users setups how to enable the hibernate option)

  On this page https://help.ubuntu.com/14.04/ubuntu-help/power-
  hibernate.html it should be added the following tag:

  [Re-enable hibernate for multiple users by default in logind]
  Identity=unix-user:*
  Action=org.freedesktop.login1.hibernate-multiple-sessions
  ResultActive=yes

[Documentation-packages] [Bug 1219589] Re: ubuntu-12.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso md5sum missing from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes

2013-09-03 Thread Colin Watson
ubuntu-docs certainly used to have access to this; they set it up.
(Initially the release team wanted no part of it, favouring the signed
checksums that Seth points to; I eventually consented to do the odd
update because getting rid of it seemed like too much of an uphill
battle.)

Regardless, I've updated this page for 12.04.3 now.

  it is very important that it says up to date.
