Yeah, I tried it, it's very pretty... and kinda works. I might move
fulltime to it. But it doesn't really excite me, as I can't see any
new features.

apparently, the beta's out now.

"Canonical and the Ubuntu developers have issued a beta version
10.10 of Ubuntu, code-named "Maverick Meerkat". This development
milestone is the first and only planned beta release and will be
followed by a release candidate on the 30th of September."

You're not the only one based on the off-list emails I'm getting. :-)

Senary is base 6, just like binary is base 2. The number written
one-zero, 10, in decimal means one ten, and no units. In base 2, 10 is
the quantity 2, and in base 6, senary, it's the quantity 6. So 10/10/10
in senary is 6/6/6 in decimal; the number of the beast from the bible.

Although, as Sean pointed out, 6/1/6 is now a contender too.

Well, I thought it was funny.

Cheers,
Ralph.

I just got it. Senary means base 6. 10 is 6. 10/10/10 is 666.
Man, that's a long way to go for a joke.

Ok, I do get it. But it's completely arbitrary, and wrong too.
But here's something else interesting (in base 10 this time):

How do you make eight eights equal a thousand?

8+8+8+88+888=1000
