I have ad blockers but they been a part of Firefox for many months, I 
will try turning them off when it comes to the next payment. No idea 
about Javascript, certain don't see anything up front, maybe something 
in the background.

Hi Patrick

The issue is with two different web sites.

One of them is Nationwide Online banking web site

I am making payment to the web site (company) that I am actually one 
(e.g paying Nationwide)


The problem you mentioned in your first post is the same issue I have, 
except mine used to work in Firefox but now fails, but Google Chrome 
worked perfectly.

Are the payments on different websites, or the same website? Perhaps 
it is just a specific website that has problems with Firefox 59.0.2 
rather than a more general issue.

Some time ago I had what might be described as an opposite experience, 
but only with one specific website. Payments would stall trying to 
process the "Verified By Visa" part when using Chromium, but would go 
through fine when using Firefox and would go through fine on any other 
website that handled payments.

My solution to that problem was to make the payments in Firefox and 
report the issue to the people running that website.

I happen to have made a payment today in Firefox 59.0.2 (with a fairly 
uncustomised profile), so there does not seem to be a problem in 
general with making payments in that version of Firefox. It must be 
down to a more specific detail.

If you have customised Firefox, perhaps you could try running Firefox 
in safe mode the next time you attempt to make a payment. If it works 
in safe mode then that would suggest it was a problem with an add-on:

$ firefox --help | grep safe
  --safe-modeDisables extensions and themes for this session.

It might also be enlightening to have the Web Console (Ctrl+Shift+K in 
Firefox) open during a failed payment attempt, to see if there are any 
informative error messages, which might narrow down the cause of the 
problem. (But it's not uncommon for warnings to appear in the Web 
Console, so they may not all be relevant.)

I suppose this could be quite expensive to debug if every test 
requires a payment to be made. :)

[Dorset] Firefox online payment issue issue

I am using SolydXK EE edition (Debian Testing), for a very long time I 
have made online payment using Firefox (59.0.2) with no issue, but I 
tried last night to make two separate payments and the payment failed at 
the confirmation of payment page on both account I tried to pay.


I tried to make the make payments to the same two account tonight, but 
had the same issue, both payments refused. I tried using Google Chrome 
and both payments went through with out issue. Has anybody else had this 
issue with Firefox, have I missed a bug report stating there is a bug??


My back is Nationwide by the way if it makes any difference.
