Cou[le of suggestions:-

Have you tried Gimp?  Try to make the photo transparent (50%?) and layer 
it on top for the first one.  Not tried this myself but got something 
similar when playing one day with a couple of pics.
Other alternative could be to put them in a slide show and run it at 0.5 
to 1 sec it may show the movement that way?

[Dorset] Program to compare/overlay pictures

Is there a program to compare or overlay pictures to tell the differences.

I have a retaining wall that is gradually spreading, and a few years ago I put 
in two screws, one on each side, and have been taking photos in three 
dimensions ever since. It is difficult to compare these photos manually, even 
though I have tried to take them from the same distance each time.
