Bearing in mind that this netbook came with optional Vista Business as standard, and you see that UNR must have some seroius issues. Summary- very attractive, but practically unusable. I've put the excellent 9.10 desktop back on. What hardware are you running it on Simon? My son runs it on his Acer One and it's fine. It won't be taking on any super computers any time soon, but it's certainly usable. I'm running it on the HP 2133 Mini. That's the one with the Via chipset. Funny thing is, it works fine with the Desktop version; maybe it is optimised to be an 'un-netbook' netbook? I have 9.10 (NBR=Net Book Re-mix , is that the same as UNR ?) on a eePC 900A and it works very well. What are you using ? Re: [Dorset] Sorry to say.
Ah, well, that would be a financial matter then. The HP2140 is Atom-based but costs an awful lot, like £300-£400. I'll just have to soldier on with desktop, and hope that they fix the microphone bug. Simono The Via chips are pretty poor performers, if you are getting it to do large amounts of graphics work without offloading things onto a GPU then its not massively surprising it being slow. Do you know if its got a dedicated GPU? if it does I would advise installing the drivers (even the binary ones if you have too) and giving it another shot.
