  Missing Tray Icons

  Ken,

  This is a
  known issue. The programs are
still running, just their tray icons are missing. There have been a few attempts to
resolve this. But one of the
problems is that not all PCs have this behavior. I believe most of the ‘main’ DQSD
developers do not have the problem on their PCs. I think the next attempt to fix it
will be a major reorganization of the code which will change how things are
  loaded.

  In the
meantime, I have the problem on my W2K PC at work. I found a simple work around. I downloaded and installed Startup
  Delayer
  http://www.r2.com.au/downloads/index.html?id=startdelay

  Then I set
all the apps with missing icons to delay their startup at about 10 second
intervals starting at about 20 seconds.
This solved my problem at work on W2K PC. The docs for Startup Delayer say XP
compatible, but I have had problems getting it to run on XP
  PCs.

  So…

there is no current true
fix for the problem
a major re-org of the
code is planned (maybe in process)
I have had success with
Startup Delayer on W2K as a work around

  Hope this
  helps.

  Icons

  G’day

  I
LOVE the search bar. However after a restart/re-logon, several of my icons are
missing from the tray area if I enable the search bar prior to the
restart/re-logon. These programs are running in the Win2kPro task manager, but
I can’t see the icons and therefore can’t control them at all. Is this
something known or new? I have looked through the faq and forum without
  success.
