RE: RE: [DQSD-Users] Web button graphics (attached)

2003-09-06 Thread Shawn K. Hall

Hi Alec, Just curious, with this discussion of
wasting space on the taskbar ... I have DQSD setup on a separate
toolbar that I normally have docked at top of screen as the second row
of a toolbar whose first row is a folder containg shortcuts to
programs I frequently use. The toolbar is set to autohide and
always_on_top. Does anybody else do this?Mine is setup on the
left side of my taskbar, which is two rows high. Since I use it mostly for
testing code (vbscript and _javascript_) and as a utility/debug window (mostly for
string manipulations), it has to be multiline and several rows tall in order for
the text to be able to return carriage returns. With "2" taskbar rowsit
provides enough room for3 lines of text inDQSD:
Lots of room for a graphic of just about any size to replace
the word "Search":-) (and for an icon to replace the menu
chevron too)Then maybe it's something people would likethe option
of, even if most don't use it. Here's a shot of what it looks like with the
'DQSD Icon' in the search bar:Regards,Shawn K. Hallhttp://ReliableAnswers.com/'//

As long as you can hide it, like you can with the
word 'Search', then I guess it is not a problem. I just don't understand
why anyone would want to have part of their taskbar wasted on a graphic that

 Hello all,

I created a couple web buttons last week for DQSD - I've attached them
here. The idea is to put them on your websites to garner more support
 for DQSD.

 They're already in CVS.

I updated the icon too - adding several more [size/color-depth]
formats. Would whoever has the capabilities to do so like to copy it
from CVS to /favicon.ico on the web server? It'll make the link more
memorable should people bookmark pages on www.dqsd.net. :)

Shawn,

The way I think it works is that the web server has a script that pulls
from CVS every 15 minutes or so. So if you CVS it as favicon.ico, the
web page will get it automagically.

But where do I CVS it to? The only folders I see under CVS are

exactly equate to the webspace as far as I can tell. None of the html

Is this something many people would want? I coded it up (a few changes

also change the url and size of the image.

Is anyone interested? Personally, I think it's a waste of space on the

Hi John,

Where is it supposed to show on the web site?

It should be at http://www.dqsd.org/favicon.ico

When you bookmark the page with IE, Mozilla or Opera it should use
that file as the icon.

Strange - I pushed the file. In my local CVS repository it says it's
current with the server copy. I just checked it via the web-interface
though (
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/dqsd/dqsdweb/ ) and it
isn't there. Very strange.
