Re: [Drakelist] TR7 tuning issues
Hi Paul, Seems to me a locking problem of the PLL. I suggest you go through the relevant adustment procedure. 73 es hpy Easter, Dick PA2DW Op Sun, 12 Apr 2009 22:49:23 +0200 schreef Drakedude : My TR7 started a new problem today...some bands won't tune properly.80 mtrs won't go up past 3.500 (using up/down buttons) and 20 meters and 10 meters the display just "runs wild" it keeps climbing in frequency. PTO tuning has no effect on 20 & 10. No AUX board installed. It's as though synthesizer is only partly working, due to some bands work OK (160,40,15) some half work (80) and two don't work at all (20 & 10) I reseated all the cards which had no effect. Any thoughts as where to start looking? Re: [Drakelist] Article in April 2009 QST
Agreed Garey! I have a better suggestion though: keep the TR7 and if it is so needed, buy that ugly ricebox in addition. Soon finding out that it is nice to go back to the TR7 from time to time :) Best 73, Dick PA2DW Op Mon, 16 Mar 2009 22:19:20 +0100 schreef Garey Barrell : Personal opinion follows... In a word, YUK! It's like jacking up a Jeep and putting a Corvette engine, transmission and wheels under it. What you end up with is neither a Jeep nor a Corvette, but a collection of parts. Much better to sell the TR-7, take the money you'd spend on the "improvements", and buy a new YaeComWood. 73, Garey - K4OAH Glen Allen, VA Drake 2-B, 4-B, C-Line & TR-4/C Service Supplement CDs DW Holtman wrote: Hello, Did anyone read the article on modernizing a TR-7 by DK4DDS. It has information on adding a ton of features, such as DSP Noise reduction, curing the PTO Drift, Notch Filter, Improving the sensevity on the higher bands, Speech Processor and a bunch of others. It is some great food for thought, for bringing a great radio into the 21st Century. Great Stuff. I'm thinking very hard about trying most of them out. Most of them do not require modifing the original Circuit boards, just adding boards. If anybody had some comments/information on these mods, I sure would be interested. "D.W. Harms" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- The not-so-elegant solution of Jim is exactly what I did too. The result is "even bluer" than with bulbs and no need to lift the DR7 anymore :) Higly recommended! [drakelist] FS Drake 7077 desk microphone
"D.W. Harms" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- Drakelist de PA2DW, Is there anyone out there interested in a 7077 desk microphone in excellent condition? I dislike to list on e-bay and want to sell it to a Drake-enthousiast, who would put it to good use. I am 90% CW op and for the few times I am on phone, I have a handmike that suits my needs. 75 plus shipping would be reasonable price I think. 73, Dick PA2DW -- Submissions:drakelist@www.zerobeat.net Unsubscribe:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Zerobeat Web Page: www.zerobeat.net - sponsored by www.tlchost.net --
