[Bug 93826] 144Hz graphic glitches and bad refresh rate

2016-01-23 Thread bugzilla-dae...@freedesktop.org
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93826

I've test to make a new mode :
xrandr --newmode "2560x1440_144.00" 808.75 2560 2792 3072 3584 1440 1443
1448 1568 -hsync +vsync

But same issue.

Works with FGLRX @144Hz.

Ok, so just uncovered the overflow bug.

I spoke too early. The jump doesn't happen when i change video modes -
video resolution / refresh rate etc, despite hw counter reset. But if i
just disable and then reenable a display, the software counter jumps.

As you've probably noticed, no one from the nouveau team really looks at this
bug tracker. (I happened to notice this one because it's a slow day on the
dri-devel list.) I recommend filing bugs on bugs.freedesktop.org xorg ->
Driver/nouveau if you'd like the attention of the nouveau developers.

... gonna try it with kernel 4.4 now as I heard that there were certain
improvements ...
