radeon r 480 hdmi audio open source driver how?

I read somewhere that you need DAL drm patches to be able to use the hdmi audio 
with open source driver, but I am unable to boot into desktop with the patches 
and I read that this is a problem for some others too. All the kernels I have 
tried so far havent enabled hdmi audio.

Adjusting polaris gpu speed/voltages/fan speed via linux ?

For example techpowerup review shows that r 480 has really high idle voltage 
and power consumption. An in my linux box it seems to draw around 25w or more 
during idle stuff. And the fan speed is really slow and gpu card temperature 
high, even at idle. 

I wouldnt mind even losing some of the gpu power or memory speed to gain some 
more effiency in idle use.

Radeon r480x polaris support -what kernel git to use?

How to fetch the most recent changes to the hardware? I don't want to use 
4.7.rc7 but more recent.
