I have the same problem on eMachines E640G laptop with the same integrated
graphics (PCI ID is the same). I remember having this problem ever since the
Evergreen support started to work. Currently I'm using kernel 2.6.38-rc5+

Additinally a second problem showed up:
After suspending the laptop the screen (sometimes)
flickers a lot. This only goes away if you do a
complete poweroff.
