Someone sent a mail saying they thought they'd fixed the DRM tree - is that not the case? signature.asc Description: PGP signature

This resolution is not quite right on next-20230412 and next-20230413, as the drm tree's rename was not taken into account on the conflicting line. In other words, I need this diff for everything to work properly. diff --git a/drivers/gpu/drm/amd/display/Kconfig b/drivers/gpu/drm/amd/display/Kconfig index b990ef80d686..2d8e55e29637 100644 --- a/drivers/gpu/drm/amd/display/Kconfig +++ b/drivers/gpu/drm/amd/display/Kconfig @@ -8,7 +8,7 @@ config DRM_AMD_DC depends on BROKEN || !CC_IS_CLANG || X86_64 || SPARC64 || ARM64 select SND_HDA_COMPONENT if SND_HDA_CORE # !CC_IS_CLANG: https://github.com/ClangBuiltLinux/linux/issues/1752 - select DRM_AMD_DC_DCN if (X86 || (PPC64 && ALTIVEC) || (ARM64 && KERNEL_MODE_NEON && !CC_IS_CLANG)) + select DRM_AMD_DC_FP if (X86 || (PPC64 && ALTIVEC) || (ARM64 && KERNEL_MODE_NEON && !CC_IS_CLANG)) help Choose this option if you want to use the new display engine support for AMDGPU. Thanks, that's the right resolution. Not much we can do to avoid that conflict, we'll just have to tell Linus about it at pull request time. cheers
linux-next: manual merge of the drm tree with the powerpc tree
Hi all, Today's linux-next merge of the drm tree got a conflict in: drivers/gpu/drm/amd/display/Kconfig between commit: 78f0929884d4 ("powerpc/64: Always build with 128-bit long double") from the powerpc tree and commit: 4652ae7a51b7 ("drm/amd/display: Rename DCN config to FP") from the drm tree. I fixed it up (I used the powerpc version - with "(PPC64 && ALTIVEC)") and can carry the fix as necessary. This is now fixed as far as linux-next is concerned, but any non trivial conflicts should be mentioned to your upstream maintainer when your tree is submitted for merging. You may also want to consider cooperating with the maintainer of the conflicting tree to minimise any particularly complex conflicts. -- Cheers, Stephen Rothwell pgpNPtdh978tk.pgp Description: OpenPGP digital signature
